K-Idols with tattoos pt. 1
So I know in South Korea tattoos are still somewhat taboo and a very sensitive subject but as a girl with tattoos this is a topic I'm very passionate about. As I stated I have 3 tattoos so obviously I'm all for them. I don't like how they have such a bad stigma because now a days they're a form of expression and they're art. They're a form of strength, encouragement, reminders and memorials. When Talking About Fake Personalities, Manager Tells TVXQ to Shut Up
Jaejoong keeps it real. Sometimes too real. In an interview looking back on their past 3 years as a group, he started talking about original concepts for the members (yes, each member had a concept) but was cut off by a manager who thought he might go too far. Watch it here: Jaejoong was very open about how he was told by SM not to speak in the beginning of TVXQ so that he gave off the cold, mysterious concept. That actually backfired, and he wasn't as popular as they thought he would be - because people didn't think he was alluring, they thought he was creepy or just uninteresting. When they finally let him be the ABSOLUTE DORK THAT HE IS he gained popularity, and the group as a whole gained popularity! I still believe members are given roles to fill so that the group can be appealing to as many people as possible, but I think the industry as gotten a lot more lenient when it comes to letting their true personalities shine. I'm so glad TVXQ was given the shot to be normal goofballs, thats what most people love them for!

"JYJ Law" Passes: No More Blacklisting Artists!!!
JYJ fans, where you at?! South Korea's National Assembly passed a new amendment (informally called the "JYJ Law"), which officially prohibits broadcasting companies from blocking specific celebrities' television appearances without clear, justifiable reasons. Ever since the three former TVXQ members (Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun) left SM Entertainment in 2009 they haven't promoted their music with television performances or variety shows. WHICH IS A TRAVESTY BECAUSE WE NEED MORE LIVE JUNSU PERFORMANCES. Members of the entertainment community have openly stated that SM Entertainment pressured broadcasters into blacklisting the trio by threatening to withhold performances from their own popular groups. (source) One more step towards taking SM DOWN! They control so many things in the entertainment industry that if you piss them off, you're screwed. This takes away at least a tiny bit of their power. K, now when is TVXQ getting back together?

So, TVXQ is the reason I got into Kpop way back when, and while I don't listen to their music anymore, the FIVE boys hold a very very special place in my heart. After the lawsuit and Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu leaving, it was really rough for everyone. I recently saw a gif set of Jaejoong thanking his fans for staying by him and it got me actually tearing up. “In the conflict with the company, I had tough times in my twenties. It’s not a proper thing to say in front of my parents who are here but we were like...we should go farming if we fail. Because the canceling fees (for the contract) were too expensive. We didn’t have that much money. We came out for our liberty and happiness. We said, “If we lose the lawsuit, let’s just leave and die.” That’s what we were feeling. We wanted happiness so badly. We won our freedom not because we were great or because we were very wise but because you kept cheering for us. Without you, we had nothing to rely on. We would not have been so brave. So I would like to say, what I am proud of for the most since my debut is every one of you. Thank you so much! You are my biggest achievement.” This is why we're fans :)
