These trees will add a cute, chic and rustic vibe to your living space during the holiday season. An added bonus — they are easy to make! This DIY tutorial comes from the wonderful people at Little House of Four.
For this project, you will need:
-- Tree template (this tutorial used ones found here)
-- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
-- Thin sticks
-- Small wood slivers
-- Sewing pins
You can find the majority of these items at a craft store.
Cut out the felt trees
Fold the templates in haft and cut along the fold. Then, pin the template on a folded piece of felt. Cut out the felt along the edge of the template. You are going to need many of these felt trees, so repeat this step until you have a lot of felt trees.
Glue the trees on the stick
Take the hot-glue gun and place glue along the fold of the felt trees and glue the trees to the stick, as shown in the picture above. Continue gluing until the felt trees cover the stick.
Make the peak of the tree
To make the peak of the tree, take all of the felt peaks and dab a little bit of glue on the top of the sticks and then push all of the felt peaks together. Glue the stick to the wood slivers to make a base for your tree.
Set up these rustic felt trees in your living space and enjoy!
