My Travel Catalogue #7 - Paris: Rue Mouffetard
a.k.a the most romantic street of Old Europe according to L’histoire des rues de Paris. I’ve forgotten why it gained such a reputation but a walk at 2 a.m one night on this street was an eye-opening experience to the youthful debaucheries of the city. This is the street where, if I remember correctly, the Vikings used to get drunk at. Also it has the cheapest pavement cafe in Paris. One night, my friend and I were walking along this street and then we turned at this corner and saw the house where Ernest Hemingway spent his days in Paris at. Such is the beauty of Paris, you find history in every bricks and stones.
