Santa Claus and Sports Rivalry

Christmas is the season to be merry and joyful.

But not in the world of sports.

A game or match on Christmas day is just like any other games. It can even get nastier because there are more fans watching especially if it's between regional rivals like Manchester United and Manchester City. But Christmas is dominated by the color red, which is the symbolic color for Manchester United while Manchester City proudly supports sky blue as their color. Thus, after a handful of complaints from City fans to Santa Claus, what did he decide to do?
That's right.

A half-and-half Santa Claus for the two teams from Manchester!

So if a Manchester City fan comes up to take a photo with him, he can show his "blue side" to go along with not only the Christmas theme, but also the fandom side!
Merry Christmas to all my sports fans and enjoy your holidays with your favorite teams and even though tis the season to be jolly...

Root for your favorite teams with more passion and intensity this holiday!

Love It Or Hate It: Live Sporting Events?
Welcome to the Funny Community game, Love It Or Hate It! This game is really similar to Monday's 'No Good or So Good' food game - except this one deals a lot more with non-food things. Every week, I highlight a different thing that a lot of people either really love or really hate and see how our community feels overall! Last week, I asked you how you felt about SELFIE STICKS. It was an EXTREMELY tight vote, but out of the 60 who gave your opinion, 33 of you said that they're actually kind of useful! Soooo... SELFIE STICKS WIN!!!! This week, I want to know: How do you feel about attending live sports games? Spectator sports have been around since the days of Ancient Greece, but the ones we know and love today came into being in the mid 19th century! The number of Americans that attend at least one live sporting event annually is easily in the tens of millions. However, the amount of them that find said sporting event COMPLETELY BORING is still widely unknown. How do YOU feel about spectator sports? Are they tons of fun or brutally boring? Debate, debate, debate! @Inaritricx @Taijiotter @wonyeop316 @AimeeH @XergaB20 @JustinaNguyen @Danse @RainaC3 @bnrenchilada @destiny1419 @arnelli @Luci546 @InPlainSight @Ash2424701 @GingerMJones @zwdodds @LenaBlackRose @misssukyi @TerraToyaSi @kneelb4zod @BrookeStam @RachelParker @JaxomB @ultraninja10 @reyestiny93 @MattK95 @MajahnNelson @petname83 @BluBear07 @melifluosmelodi @ZoilaObregon @GossamoKewen95 @TracyLynnn @TiffanyWallace @VixenViVi @DenieceSuit @ButterflyBlu @CelinaGonzalez @MaighdlinS @maddiemoozer @VeronicaArtino @iixel @TomHawthorne @DominiqueThomas @ElizabethT @RiggaFoster @AluSparklez @kvnguyen @chris98vamg @WiviDemol @animechild51 @2Distracted @cthulu @jazziejazz @JessicaChaney @shantalcamara @J1mbleJ4mz @Beeplzzz @carmaa10 @MayraYanez @Kamiamon @HeatherWright @MischiefK1ng @SeoInHan @ShonA @KennyMcCormick @MooshieBay @IMNII @Ikpoper @humairaa @merryjayne13 @zoemvillarreal @lilleonz @ChristinaOMalle @AllieGrabowski @baileykayleen @KarleyFrance @Ticasensei @EasternShell @musicundefined9 @peahyr @TerrecaRiley @MoisEsGaray @atmi @AlidaGarman @sanRico @orenshani7 @jannatd93 @ReadAnimateSwim @Astrohelix @dimplequeen @ChildofSparda13 @grapetoes2000 @sarahpjane @LittleHorn @justinasarmento @deilig @GalaxyTacoCat @amobigbang @LAVONYORK @Jason41 @kpopdeluxegirl @BlackDragon88 @Bobs @paularasnick @Animaniafreak @YumiMiyazaki @Patmanmeow @MarvelTrashcan @kawaiiporpoise @Xiuyeolhyun @MaggieHolm @xDaisyDaysx
You Won't Believe These Gift Wrapping Skills.
So, without fail, the holiday season always reminds me how absolutely horrible I am at wrapping gifts. I try, every year, to wrap them thoughtfully, with brand new wrapping paper boasting Christmas trees or stars or tiny penguins. However, it all ends up crumpled up into large balls of frustration around my living room, so whatever gift-wrapping inspiration you were hoping to get from me is just not going to happen any time soon. Not this millennium. However, check out the packaging handiwork of Sheila, a 27-year-old graphic designer from the San Francisco Bay who put the rest of us to some serious gift wrapping shame. Swipe left to each of these presents to see how they were wrapped - and prepare to be amazed. With a handy Xacto and some graphic design know-how, she transformed this small set of Gundams into a huge stick of butter. And what could she be doing with this copy of 'Falling Up'? Wrapping it up like a sirloin steak, of course. She actually designed her own fake butcher shop labels to pull this one off. I like this one because it (somewhat morbidly) stuck with the ocean theme. Okay, maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather have the giant candy bar. And the doughnuts. I mean, fairies are great, but check out all those sprinkles! It's crazy how realistic this sushi looks - even in photographs! And, last but not least, one man's Nintendo cartridge-inspired flask is another man's, uh... cheese? So what did you guys think? Could you pull this wrapping job off, or do you have a better, more signature strategy of your own?
Champions League Review
With half of Match Day 6 in the books for the UEFA Champions League, half of the groups have been decided. Here's how it all went down on Tuesday. Group A - Real Madrid, Paris SG advance This group was never really in doubt, as it seemed a formality that big boys Madrid and PSG would advance ahead of Sweden's Malmo and pesky Shakhtar from Ukraine. Madrid finished the group in fine style with an 8-0 victory over the Swedes thanks to hat tricks by Ronaldo AND Benzema, while PSG beat Shakhtar 2-0. Group B - Wolfsburg, PSV Eindhoven advance Group B brought a true shock, as Wolfsburg beat United 2-1 to advance alongside the Dutch side PSV and send United packing. The Red Devils never really put in a complete performance in the Champions League and they paid the ultimate price, as they now enter the Euro League having finished third in the group ahead of CSKA Moscow. It's a huge disappointment for Louis van Gaal but you have to take your hat off to the Germans and PSV who fought hard and deserved to advance. Group C - Atlético Madrid, Benfica advance Atlético Madrid are one of the most consistent sides in Europe and they showed it in the group stages, losing just one match of six and finishing top in their group. They beat Benfica 2-1 today to earn the top spot. They are always a fun team to watch and I'm happy to see them advance. Galatasary finish third to enter the Euro League while Astana from Kazakhstan's dream ends here. Group D - Man City, Juventus advance Again, no real surprise here as both of these teams were heavily favored over Sevilla and Monchengladbach. City wrapped up the top spot in the group today with a 4-2 win over the German side thanks to two goals from Raheem Sterling, while Juventus lost 1-0 to Sevilla to finish second. The Italians will be disappointed to let the top spot slip away as they will not have a more difficult first round in the knockout stage, but they have only themselves to blame. What's the biggest surprise to you? Did you watch any of the matches?
Holiday Cheesecake Cookies
Cookie dough: 400 g all purpose flour 125 g confectioners’ sugar 200 g butter 1 egg pinch of salt Filling: 100 g sour cream 200 g cream cheese, room temperature 100 g sweetened condensed milk 2 tbs lemon juice strawberry jam To decorate: Red and green food colouring, and wooden skewers Instructions: 1. Let’s start preparing cookie dough. In a medium mixing-bowl, mix together all ingredientes to form a ball. 2. Divide the dough in two, and gather each portion into a slightly flattened ball. 3. Working with one ball of dough at a time, roll it out between two baking papers to a thickness of maximum 0,5 cm. 4. Using a beveled cookie cutter, cut out circles and drape one circle over each bowl cavity of pan, pressing to form smooth surface. (I used a mini cupcake pan) 5. Chill whilst preheating oven to 350º F (180 ºC) 6. Slip cookies into the oven to bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Remove from oven and let them cool on the pan for about 10 minutes 7. Let them cool completely on a wire rack 8. When cold, prepare cheese filling. Mix sweetened condensed milk, sour cream (or whip cream) and cream cheese on a medium bowl, until combined. Add lemon juice and mix well. 9. Place two tablespoons cheese cream on a small bowl, and another two tablespoons on a separate small bowl. Tint one of the bowls with red food colouring, and the other one with green food colouring. 10. Place 1 teaspoon strawberry jam on every cookie bowl. Fill with cheese cream. Use wooden skewers and red and green mixes to decorate 11. Keep in the fridge until set (about 4 hours if using sour cream, at least 24 hours if using whipping cream). They are better the next day. Can be stored several days on the fridge
EPL Match of the Week: Arsenal vs. Man City
We've got one match this week that stands out above the rest, and it comes to us on Monday afternoon, 2PM ET. It's Arsenal vs. Man City - who takes it? City are coming off a good win over Swansea City, though they left it to late to steal 3 points. It was an important win for them as they kept pace with those at the top of the table. Midfielder David Silva is back from injury and is playing super football, showing again how valuable he is to this team. They just aren't the same team without him. With his form plus that of Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne, City have maybe the league's most powerful midfield. Goalkeeper Joe Hart is in great form in net, too, and is saving some real stunning shots to keep City safe. 32 points from 16 matches puts City right toward the top, fighting neck and neck with other title contenders. The often-criticized Olivier Giroud is in the form of his life for Arsenal at the moment, coming off a huge hat trick in the Champions League against Olympiacos to secure Arsenal's advance to the knockout stages. He scored again last week against lowly Aston Villa and is proving to everyone that he can be the main striker for a title-winning side. Mesut Ozil is also incredibly impressive week in and week out and has a ridiculous 13 assists in the league this season. Arsenal sit ahead of City by just one point, with 33 from 16 matches. My pick This is a very tough one to call. With the match being played at the Emirates and Arsenal's form as strong as it is, I'm going to have to take the Gunners. I'll say 2-1 to Arsenal in a big win. Who takes it for you? @InPlainSight @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @MarcusJiles @DerekGumtow @havic @yaakattackk @bnzatton @SherzTYCi @krishntejanand @addri @mishthi @andwas @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @starli @kyleatekwana @BenjiPhilip @Eduardo14 @AshfakEjaaz @EmanueleYagoda
What's with the Chinese football league?
There's something strange happening in the football world right now. Even with all the money and appeal that the world's top leagues bring - the EPL, La Liga, Germany's Bundesliga, France's Ligue 1 and Italy's Serie A, some top players have recently departed their clubs and gone to accept enormous contracts in the Chinese Super League. The latest star to make the move is Chelsea's Ramires, a player at the peak of his career at age 28. I'm stunned. There is a history of great players making the move to China, but in the past it has been players at the very tail end of their careers moving across the world to make huge amounts of money before they retire. Think Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, who in recent years went to Shanghai to play. And I understand the appeal for an aging player. Someone like Drogba couldn't keep up with the pace of the top European leagues anymore, but could still be a huge star in China, where the league quality is extremely low. They are major marketing moves for the Chinese teams too, who can bring in world superstars to boost their image. But recently, the players making the move have not been aging stars. They are players in the prime of their careers, like Chelsea's Ramires. Other players to recently make the move are Roma's Gervinho (formerly of Arsenal), who is just 28 years old and Colombia and Inter Milan's Freddy Guarin, a young midfielder of enormous quality and potential. He has been on the radar of the top EPL clubs for years, and to see him turn them down in exchange for a move to the low-level China league is shocking. Alessandro Diamanti, Momo Sissokho, Demba Ba and Paulinho are other players who have recently moved from their European clubs to play in China under huge contracts. It's a bizarre phenomenon. Football in China is not known to be a very popular sport, but the Chinese owners have loads of money and are doing a good job convincing top players to come and join them. I'm sad to see exciting players like Ramires and Gervinho leave Europe, where I could watch them in the Champions League, but I'm fascinated to see what they will make of themselves in China, and to follow along to see if the Chinese league continues to pry away great talent from Europe. @InPlainSight @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @MarcusJiles @DerekGumtow @havic @yaakattackk @bnzatton @SherzTYCi @krishntejanand @addri @mishthi @andwas @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @starli @kyleatekwana @BenjiPhilip @Eduardo14 @AshfakEjaaz @EmanueleYagoda @Bobs What do you make of this recent trend?
