This is a perfect project to make a last-minute gift for someone in your life who loves beer. You can also make it for your own living area to provide a fun flair to your living space. This DIY tutorial comes from the great people at Post-Grad Crafting.
For this project, you will need:
-- Six-Pack cardboard beer holders
-- Pen or pencil
-- Ceramic tiles
-- Mod Podge
-- Sponge brush
-- Binder clips
-- Hi-gloss Lacquer
You can find the majority of these items at a craft store.
Cut the cardboard
Trace the size of the tiles on the back of the cardboard. Then, use the scissors to cut the cardboard to the size of the tiles, as shown in the picture above.
Apply Mod Podge
Use the sponge brush to apply Mod Podge to the ceramic tiles. Then, place the cardboard on the tiles. To make sure that the cardboard does not come up while it is drying, clip binder clips on each side of the tiles. Let the Mod Podge dry completely.
Apply the felt
Trace the size of the tiles on the felt. Then, use the scissors to cut out the felt. Paint a layer of Mod Podge on the back of the tiles. Then, apply the felt to the back of the tiles. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. Then, apply 2-4 coats of Mod Podge over the top of the cardboard. Allow the Mod Podge to dry for about 10 minutes before applying the next layer. Seal the coasters with a coat of hi-gloss Lacquer. Allow that to completely dry before using the coasters.
Give these coasters as a gift or enjoy in your own home!
