How To Learn A New Language At Home
I've been trying to improve my French recently, and came across these awesome YouTubers called DamonandJo. They have self-taught themselves nearly 6 languages! I believe they speak French, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, German, and of course English! You can either watch the video above (which I suggest cause they have the BEST sense of humor) or check out their tips below: 1. Follow Famous YouTubers in the language you want to learn! There are tons of youtubers in other languages, and often if they are famous enough, there will be english subtitles. Listen to them to hear real people speaking the language rather than a text book! They're usually super entertaining too so it helps :) 2. Follow those YouTubers or famous people on twitter so you see that language each day! The easiest way to get used to a foreign language is to see it all the time and this really helps! 3. Change your phone/facebook/etc language to your desired language! Since you probably already know where everything is in your phone or facebook, you wont be confused and you'll learn a ton of new vocab! 4. Listen to audio books in the language you want!!! Audible has a ton of foreign language books. Try starting with a book you already know well (like Harry Potter for me - I'm trying to read that in Korean right now...) and listen throughout your day! 5. Sign up for foreign magazines or newsletters! Or even better download their app in another language! For example, my boyfriend gets push notification from Le Monde which is a french newspaper :) Even if you only read the headline, its practice. 6. Try cooking a meal using a recipe in a different language! You start to learn that a lot of words you actually already know (for example, sauté means the same thing in french and in korean bokkeum (like bokkeumbap) means fried! so literally "fried rice!" 7. Watch TV shows in the language Duh!!!! 8. Talk to yourself and dont be afraid! Practice speaking whenever you can, even to people who are strangers! be brave! What languages are you trying to learn?!

When I first came to Korea as a student who knew NO Korean, it was a bit difficult to get around. Google Maps was a mess, I didn't know enough Korean to use the apps, etc. So now that I've got a handle on the language I wanted to share with you guys how to use the best directions app for Korea: Naver Maps! This is a great way to "walk" around Korea^^ The Korean government actually wouldn't turn over their maps to Google so Google could add it to Google Maps because Korea didn't want a competitor with Naver. That's why Google Maps, while its getting better, is still not as accurate or up-to-date as Google! Top 3 Dramas for Beginners [shoutouts to my Vingle family]
So my Vingle family head @kimchiandkpop suggested a list of dramas for our Vingle family getting into k-dramas and how to possibly start or shortcut them into that world. Here's my list of suggestions .. For those making the transition and who are also in KPOP [especially EXO fans] .. this drama is short and sweet and gives you a good inside look at a different side of EXO "It's Okay, That's Love" is another good one .. also feat. a member of EXO [not a bias thing, just coincidence] .. but if you've ever heard of Lee Kwang Soo, you'll definitely like this one .. [if you haven't heard of Kwang Soo-ssi, I suggest watching some episodes of RUNNING MAN] "Emergency Couple" is another one I fell in love with. I watch a lot of Running Man and in turn, made me fall in love with Song Ji Hyo who is the lead female in the drama. Also, I have a slight interest in the medical field so this made the show pretty interesting .. it was like watching "Scrubs." We were only supposed to mention 3, but I couldn't help but mention this one. If you are a fan of Rain [Ninja Assassin anyone?] and Krystal from f(x) then this should be a good one for you. Long story short, Krystal is trying to become a music producer and gm has to go through a hardships of a trainee in a company that Rain has been passed down to own. All I gotta say, is Krystal has this one part in the beginning where she sings and I seriously lost it, cheels man .. chilly feels fo'sho.

The first and second team got the safe and cell phone. but the third team only get the cell phone. The mission. Personnel agent , you have to explode the safe in Prison tower and do not say that you are a personnel agent to other members. (We don't know yet who is a personnel agent kkk) All members got a clothes and acticity cost and other things. I don't know exactly what it is. Anyway they have to go Prison tower until 2:00 Before going there, they have to stop by somewhere. HAHA seems to be a real agent kkk he talks to the citizens like "Hey senior, thanks for you. you saved my life in the old days. we save the earth kkkkkk" Gwang soo is muttering. " JS and JG seems to watch the drama...Her acting is good. Gwang soo (GS) get no hint....everyone already got hint or shared with other members...He is sad ㅜnㅜ 007 action. He have to find the enemy in the inside. JS(001) is weak about the new machines... SJ and Haha think about who is the enemy because they also found the hint" The enemy is in the inside" The guess JH is enemy because she tell a lie to them. He is suspicious about all the things...in the elevator SG continually persuades him.."Be careful do not believe him... rather than take off the nametac...." The elevator is downing... SG"Believe me please please please if I am a enemy, I will give you my house and bankbooks !!!! When they get off the elevator, SG takes off the nametac of JG. On his name tag, black enemy is still alive.... Who is really black enemy ? To explode the safe, they compound the hint. When they amass the hint, SH takes off SG and JH's name tag... now we understand all the things ! she encourages JG to attack other members..and after hearing all the hints, he remove the members... But you know that ? The hint is in the SG's shoes but he didn't notice it at all. KKK He thinks it is sponsorship by the running man.. But she cannot solve the problems... I Learned a New Korean Word!
My friend is staying in Korea for study abroad and she taught me a new word yesterday :) She's going to Busan for lunar new year (LUCKY) which is this weekend, and is using AirBnb.... Because her Korean is so good, she messaged the host in Korean to ask about directions and he sent her the home address plus something called a: 비번! (bi-beon) Now according to the dictionary, 비번 means off-duty so my friend was scared hahah would she have to sneak past the apartment guard when he is off duty (AirBnb is illegal in a lot of places) But then she realized... 비밀 - secret 번호 - number 비밀번호 - password 비번 - password! Its another pesky combination word. This is why Korean is so hard to learn ㅠㅠ
