Destiny Velez who is Miss Puerto Rico took to Twitter to make her rants against Muslims -- and it backfired. Her tweets were in response to Michael Moore's protests in front of the Trump Tower in New York City.
Here's what she had to say about Muslims:
The Miss America Organization has indefinitely suspended Velez. They also deleted her Twitter account, along with other social media profiles. The organization then released a statement via Facebook in regards to Velez' remarks:
The Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization," the statement read. "Miss Velez's actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization apologizes for the distress that Miss Velez’s actions and conduct may have caused."
Velez has since apologized.
"I apologize to the people I have offended with my words. I am first and foremost an #UpStander and as such I stand up against bullying," she said. "The last thing I wanted to do was to bully anyone. Again, I apologize to anyone who felt offended with my words."

God, another mess. She was definitely rightfully suspended. So sad that there is still THIS much ignorance out there!
she said, jews nor christians have terrorizing agendas in their sacred books. it is true that christians nor jews have that in their book. as for the quran. i cant say for sure. im not an authority on that book. while i know that most muslims to not agree with terrorism. im not sure what the book actually says or means in certain parts. i know that n muslim countries, christians can be imprisoned and killed for spreading the gospil of christ to muslims. is this called for in the quran? i honestly think i need to learn the quran so that i may be certain when i take a stand on any such issue. these terrorists, are they twistin quranic verses and if so, which ones. there is very little certainty on thdase issues because we are told one thing and seem to be finding a different, more sinister thing in the book. how can anyone know for sure unless they learn the book themselves?
muslims can be imprisoned, killed or cut off from their families for converting to another religion. is this in the quran?
She deserved to lose her position. I really dislike these apologies that aren't actually apologies. >.< ugh.
I think it should be a direct apology to the community that she offended. @ButterflyBlu, not a fake apology like you said :(
