This holiday season has been a little lack-luster for me. At the end of September I was injured quite badly while at work at one of my two jobs. Workman's comp paid for all my medical expenses, but I was unable to work for a month and a half (so I joined Vingle instead!). This resulted in me losing my other job as they hired two people to replace me while I was recovering. A couple months earlier, my grandmother requested to have the family spend Christmas with her in Florida. I had originally planned to go, but after loosing so much income while injured and having to start a new job to replace the one that let me go, I am unable to afford the time off and the plane ticket. As some of you already know, I am recently single. Though it was my decision to end the relationship and I'm honestly happy being single, it means I am all by myself for the holidays this year.
My family is across the country from me today and I work all day tomorrow (yay, holiday pay!) I've known for a couple months now that I would be on my own for the holidays and it's been a little depressing. I've been working so much the past couple of weeks that I'm only putting up my Christmas tree now.
However, in the past week or so I have started getting into the Christmas spirit. The reason is largely due to you wonderful people here on Vingle. I've participated in (and am behind in) multiple challenges; some holiday related, some not. I have been tagged in many cards and comments and today I woke to find I had been tagged in a multitude of Holiday cards.
I feel truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and acquaintances here on Vingle. I honestly credit you beautiful people for helping get into the holiday spirit this year and for including me in your celebrations.
When my co-workers have asked me what I'm doing for Christmas, I've replied that I'm spending it with my cats, Kpop and my Vingle family. And that is exactly what I'm doing.
I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for your friendship and fangirling over the past few months. I have felt completely accepted here and have reveled in the ability to be completely myself, in all my weird glory. I'm extremely grateful for all of you and to this wonderful app. Thank you so much.
I wanted to reach out and extend my gratitude and holiday greetings in the best way I know how... with KPOP!!! Enjoy.
I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful holiday season, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or any other holiday, or none at all. I hope you get everything you want, eat lots of delicious food, spend time with your loved ones and look forward to the new year. If you're on your own like me, I hope this card brought you some joy and please know you are not alone. You're Vingle fam is here with you.
