As a child, Ha-Myeong (Lee Jong-Suk) grew up in a family with his firefighter father, mother and older brother. Ha-Myeong and his older brother (Yoon Gyun-Sang) both possess higher than normal intellect and are proud of their father. A fire at a waste facility though destroys his family. His mother dies a short time later and Ha-Myeong ends up being scooped out of the ocean by an unknown man (Byun Hee-Bong). The man that pulls Ha-Myeong out of the ocean is the grandfather of In-Ha (Park Shin-Hye). In-Ha's grandfather believes Ha-Myeong is his eldest son Dal-Po, who died 30 years ago. Ha-Myeong is then adopted by In-Ha's grandfather and his name is changed to Dal-Po. In-Ha and Dal-Po now live together as uncle and niece, although they are in the same age range. In-Ha has a Pinocchio Syndrome. Whenever she lies she gets the hiccups. In-Ha and Dal-Po get along well until Dal-Po learns that In-Ha's mother (Jin Kyung) is the reporter that covered the waste facility fire that destroyed his family. Dal-Po tries to distance himself from In-Ha, but he also develops feelings for her. Years later, Dal-Po and In-Ha's family are now living in Seoul. In-Ha attempts to become a reporter like her mother. In-Ha meets her mother for the first time in years at a job interview for MSC Broadcasting Station. Her mother is the person giving her the job interview. In-Ha though fails the job interview. Her mother rejects her because of her Pinocchio Syndrome. Dal-Po is now driving a taxi to support their family. One day, Dal-Po meets In-Ha's mother and decides to become a reporter.
Choi Dal-Po (Lee Jung Suk) is the male lead and he is super adorable. This was my first Lee Jung Suk drama and I fell in love with his character instantly. He has such a fun, sensitive and determined personality. Dal-Po hides his feelings for In-Ha very well until he cracks and they finally get together. I love Dal-Po's determination to become a reporter to crush In-Ha's mom because of revenge but can't take revenge on her because of his live for In-Ha. Dal-Po is so funny in the beginning and his hair made me laugh then he gets it cut and becomes super hot. He pretends to be stupid even though he's a complete genius and could do whatever he wants. I love Dal-Po and he is the main reason this is my favorite kdrama. Ever since I saw it, nothing has topped it. Healer is now a close second!
LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER:
Seo Bum-Jo's mother was horrible and made me extremely made throughout the whole show. Just because she had money she thought she was all that and that she could order anything to happen. She created the whole mess with Choi Dal Po's family and made the father seem like a terrible person. She ruined a good family. His mother kills herself because of her and she doesn't even know it. She even babies her son yet she doesn't listen to him. She loves him a lot but does so many horrible things behind his back while she acts like the nicest person infront of her son. Good thing she gets what she deserves in the end! BTW Beom-Jo is a mama's boy and he was too sweet that's why I wasn't a fan of his character.
Choi In-Ha (Park Shin-Hye)
Park Shin-Hye is my favorite actress. She has amazing acting skills but in every other kdrama I've seen her in, she couldn't kiss at all especially in Heirs. BUT, once I watched Pinocchio I could feel the chemistry between Lee Jung Suk and Park Shin Hye. She could kiss in this show which made the show 10 X times better! I love her character and I liked her mom too even though she was kind of a horrible person in the beginning, you grow to like her.
Yoon Yoo-Rae (Lee Yoo Bi) and Hwang Gyo-Dong (Lee Pil Mo) we're the cutest. I really shipped these two and I think they end up together but I don't remember because I haven't seen this in a while. I love how innocent they are and the sweet moments they share.
CHOI DAL PO AND CHOI IN HA:
I love these two so much! They have amazing chemistry and they are so adorable. I couldn't get enough of them. They had great kiss scenes. My favorite is the snowy kiss. It's their first kiss and he was going in for a kiss but she blocks with her hand, then he kisses her hand. She moved her hand away slowly as they look into each others eyes and move in for a deep kiss. With snow flying around them and shining lights while Roy Kim's song plays in the background. It's absolutely perfect. I also really love their wedding photos kiss!
Amazing story line, it was very unique and interesting. Great character development and just great characters in general. No one in this show made me really want to rip my head off which is another plus. It is funny, cute and intense. Overall an emotional roller coaster, I cried non stop including from the 1st episode. I love the Pinocchio idea for the show, it's very different from anything else I've ever watched. In Ha reaches her dream of becoming a reporter even though ever tells her she can't because she has Pinocchio syndrome. She does though by stating nothing but the truth. The ending is very clear and you know what happens to everyone. I love the OST's from Pinocchio especially Non-fiction by Every Single Day and Pinocchio by Roy Kim. This kdrama has some of the best OST's in my opinion.
INFINITE /10 - I adored this drama, it was so perfect. They chose they right actors and actresses to play each role. This is my favorite kdrama and I recommend it to anyone unless your not a fan of the romance genre but if you do like romance, comedy, reporter type dramas.
