When Sung-Joon (Park Seo-Joon) was young, he was ugly and fat. He also didn't have any friends, but popular and pretty Hye-Jin (Hwang Jung-Eum) became his friend. She gave him comfort on rainy days when Sung-Jung feels traumatised. They held a special connection with each other, but Sung-Joon and his father moved to the United States. 15 years later, Sung-Joon returns to South Korea. He and Hye-Jin are set to meet again for the first time in many years, but Hye-Jin is unable to show herself in front of Sung-Joon who is looking for her. Both of their appearances have completely changed. Sung-Joon is now handsome and perfect in his appearance, while Hye-Jin looks nothing like her former pretty self. Hye-Jin is also unemployed and looking for a job. Hye-Jin then asks her best friend Ha-Ri (Koh Joon-Hee) for help. Ha-Ri is to pretend she is Hye-Jin and go meet Sung-Joon. At their meeting, Ha-Ra pretends to be Hye-Jin and tells Sung-Joon that she is leaving for England the next day to study. Later, Hye-Jin, as an intern at a fashion magazine, meets Sung-Joon who is an editor at the fashion magazine. EPISODES: 16

Kim Shin-Hyuk (Choi Siwon) is so funny, cute and a likeable character. I'm not even joking when I say I rarely get second lead syndrome but he gave me it. I cried so hard so many times because I felt bad for him but I still wanted the main leads to end up together. I don't like many guys with facial hair and he is one of the only actors that I think looks better with facial hair. Did I mention he's hot! I mean you can just watch that little clip which is the funniest scene throughout the whole show. Plus you get to see his sexy bod!

Sung-Joon and Hye-Jin are so cute, sorry Siwon! But I was rooting so hard for these two to get together. They were each others first love. How can you beat that? Sung-Joon, even though he though Ha-Ri was Hye-Jin from the beginning. His heart knew that Hye-Jin was Hye-Jin because he fell in love with her again the way she is. She may look completely different but he changed too. I thought she was pretty the whole time but whatever. He knew he liked he when he started to worry where she was and she knew that she lived him the whole time.

Hye-Jin and Ha-Ri have the best friendship I've ever seen in any show. Even though Ha-Ri regrets what she did she does what she must do and tries her best to forget Sung-Joon for her best friend which is true friendship. Hye-Jin cares so much for Ha-Ri, she even thinks about giving up on Sung-Joon for her best friends first love so she could be happy. But Sung-Joon says he loves her (Hye-Jin) not Ha-Ri. I heard a lot of hate towards Ha-Ri because of how she betrays Hye-Jin but she does try multiple times to tell Sung-Joon that's she's not Hye-Jin but he always ended up not meeting her, then he finds out by coincidence.

I love this show so much. It got me hooked right away. It's so funny, I love the idea of two people who change so much in appearance yet meet after so long and still end up falling for each other again. Great supporting characters, good music and there weren't really any bad characters that I disliked. I loved all the characters especially Kim Shin-Hyuk. It's got a great supply of romance and humor. Therefore it's perfect! She Was Pretty also had one of the best endings I've ever seen in a K-Drama.

Yes!!!! This drama was amazing! 😍 But I really wished they could have given a bit more of Ha-Ri and Kim Shin-Hyuk's life. With the trailers I though they would end up together...
