Jungkook Angsty Fluff Summary: After your awkward confrontation, you and Jungkook try and make amends.
After your scene in the bathroom, you and Jungkook had decided to meet up that afternoon. You both agreed that it would probably be best to talk when both members were completely comfortable with the surrounding situation. He met you in front of the school that day, and you took him to your house, sitting him in your room. What you didn’t expect was the fact that your brother would want to sit in on the conversation. So there you were, sitting on your bed facing each other while Jin sat behind your desk, arms crossed, and facing you. “Do you really have to be here?” You asked Jin softly, trying your best to get you and Jungkook alone. “Yes. The last time the two of you were alone, he took away my little sister’s sweet innocent lips.” You roll your eyes at him, but you knew that he wasn’t going to leaving willingly. “Fine.” You grumbled and turned back to Jungkook, trying to block him out of your vision. “So.” Jungkook stated awkwardly, his eyes flicking back and forth between you and your brother. “How long have you been seeing Daeson?” The words spilled out of you. It was the one question that was eating you up inside. “5 days.” You felt slightly light headed at his response. Only 5 days, and they were already perfectly okay with PDA? Fuck that boy moves fast.
“So, it isn’t serious then?” The answer to this question could only cause you pain and you knew it, you still had to hear it anyways. “It wasn’t serious.” Wasn’t? Does that mean it’s over? Or are you just reading way too much into things? “What are you saying?” “I broke up with her after I found out how you felt.” You felt your eyes widening at his response. It was the last thing you expected to come out of his mouth. “What?!” You pulled your fingers through your hair, and turned away in shock. “I’m a home-wrecker.” You whispered to yourself causing Jin to snicker from the other side of the room. You glanced up at him to see that his lips were curled into an awful smirk. “Yah! Stay out of this!” You scolded him before turning back to Jungkook with a huff. His face greatly contrasted Jin’s. His eyes were laden with concern and remorse. “Y/N, it wasn’t really anything to begin with.” He tried to explain, but his statements just weren’t adding up in your mind. If it wasn’t serious, then how come you even knew about her in the first place? It’s not like she went to your school or anything. Not to mention the fact… “But you kissed.” You whispered, and Jungkook’s fingers raised up to his mouth. “Is that bad?” He questioned. You sighed at his blissfully ignorant self. Maybe you were reading a bit too far into things. “Look I really do still like you Y/N.” He leaned forward. With his face hovering right before yours, you could inspect his features closely for the first time. His eyes were darker than you expected, with his lips being just as luscious as you remembered. Everything was framed in practically flawless skin, and it had you sweating. “I don’ think I can do this.” You mumbled as his face inched closer to yours. You leaned back on your bed until he was on top of you, face still just as close as before. “Are you sure?” His lips brushed against yours as he spoke, sending all the blood in your body straight to your cheeks. Suddenly the boy was pushed to the floor beside your bed, causing him to yelp out in pain. “Yah! She said she can’t. Don’t push you luck with me!” Jin was fuming beside the bed, glaring at Jungkook with the fire of a thousand suns. “Sorry.” Jungkook stood and bowed in apology. The pathetic look on his face had you fuming as well. You jumped off the bed and shoved your brother. “Jin what’s with you?” You hissed, causing Jin to look at you in such a way that had you sinking into the floor. You had just disrespected him with your movements and your words, and his stare had you wanting to throw yourself at his feet and apologize. “You know what? Jungkook, out! I need to speak with Y/N.” Jin’s eyes remained trained on you and you watched as Jungkook rushed out of your room. Once you had both heard the front door close, Jin burst out into a fit of laughter. “The look on your face!” He breathed out through his tears. “Oppa!” You punched your brother in his upper arm. He gripped the section you just hit, his mouth forming into a small ‘o’ as he suffered in silence. “You had no right to do that.” Jin dropped his hand from his arm, and smiled. “I had to teach him a lesson somehow.” You scoffed and rolled your eyes, pushing past your brother. He turned as you stormed towards the door. “Come on!” He yelled after you but you didn’t stop. You stepped into the hallway only to realize that you had no place to go. Jin was in your room, he should be the one leaving not you. You decided to just walk towards the kitchen to cool off. “It was funny!” Jin shouted out from the doorway. Rumor confirmed: your brother did have a sick sense of humor.
You walked through the brisk morning air, quickening your pace towards the school. Normally you would walk as slowly as possible during this last stretch before you entered school grounds, but considering the fact that it was fucking freezing outside, you knew that even school would be better than outside right now. You heard the sound of someone running behind you, and turned to investigate. You saw Taehyung hobbling along in an attempt to catch up with you. You stalled your movements, snickering to yourself at Taehyung’s awful running posture. “Where did you disappear to yesterday?” He huffed out once he was stood next to you. You cocked your head in confusion for a moment before it hit you. “Oh shit! I totally forgot!” You smacked yourself upside the head. You were supposed to hang out with Taehyung yesterday. It was his sister’s birthday, and he needed an excuse to get out of the house and away from his younger sister’s hormonal friends. “It’s okay. I saw you walking with Jungkook.” He winked at you and wiggled his eyebrows, causing you to laugh a little. “Would you stop being so disgusting?” You shoved him, forcing his shoulder to hit the fence beside you. He shrugged lightly with his rectangle smile upfront and present. “What? I can’t root for my best friend?” “Not in that way no.” He bit his lip to stifle his laughter. You hit him one more time upside the head. He cleared his throat and his expression turned more serious. “So what happened?” “He confessed and Jin kicked him out.” Taehyung inhaled sharply at your blunt answer. “Oh harsh. Still on the outskirts of family love then?” You gave him your best ‘really?’ stare, and he smiled again. “Oh come on, you can’t tell me you don’t want to date him.” He nudged his shoulder against yours. You had reached the front steps of your school at this point, so you hurried ahead to get out of the cold. Taehyung was not far behind, and you could tell that he wanted an answer to his question. “After what he put me through, not just yet.” You explained. He nodded considering your response. “Not yet, but eventually then?” You stopped, turning to give the boy another look. He took the hint and decided to drop the topic. “Get to class.” You mumbled pushing him into his classroom.
With your school day over, all you had to do was make the mile long journey home, and you were in sleep city. School was exhausting at the very least. You had stupidly packed your schedule full of class time, so you had no breaks in between the rigorous courses. All you wanted now was a soft pillow and a warm blanket, of course you never really seemed to get what you wanted. The minute you stepped into the cold air, you were met by Daeson’s saddened face. “Hi.” She bowed causing you to bow awkwardly back. It seemed that she wanted to talk to you, and you had no idea why. “You’re Y/N, right?” You nodded slowly assessing her face for any hint of her intention. You braced yourself slightly in case the girl would start throwing punches at you. Instead she just bit her lip and sighed, looking around before pulling you to the side of the building. “I just wanted to ask… Did Jungkook tell you why he broke up with me?” Her voice was hushed, and you were shocked by her sudden appearance. You struggled to formulate an answer, so in the place of silence, Daeson just kept talking. “Did I do anything wrong? Should I apologize?” You shook your head slightly, accepting the reality that the girl in front of you was really seeking your advice. “You mean he didn’t tell you why?” She looked back at you confused and shook her head. “Of course not. That boy.” You murmured to yourself, only causing more confusion to appear in her expression. You sighed, knowing that it was not in your right to tell her what had happened. “Just go talk to him. Hear it from him not me.” She bit her lip, solemnly nodding her head before bowing goodbye and leaving your side.
The next day in class, you were assigned to do a group quiz. You, Taehyung, and Jungkook quickly paired up together, and as Taehyung did most of the work, you decided to take the opportunity to confront Jungkook without Jin’s presence. “She still loves you.” Jungkook looks up from his paper at you, and you stare him back in the eyes. Intimidated by your gaze, he turns back to the test. “It was only 5 days.” Those kinds of feelings didn’t develop in just 5 days. No matter how much Jungkook wanted to deny it, there was more to the story than he was letting on. “How long have you known her?” He sighed and leaned away from you. “2 years.” His voice was suppressed, like he was ashamed to have known another human being. In a way he should be ashamed. He ruined their entire relationship because he thought you didn’t like him back. His behavior was beyond childish at this point, and it had your head spinning. “Shit Jungkook!” You hissed at him, causing to sink further down to his desk. Taehyung tapped the paper below him before pointing at the clock, indicating that you were almost out of time. You sighed and ripped the paper he had been working on from his desk, copying his answers. Taehyung just rolled his eyes and accepted it. You were enraged, and he knew better than to poke at an already angry bear. The bell rang just as you copied the final answer, and you handed the test into the teacher. Jungkook still sat behind his desk, his eyes trained on his interlaced fingers. You stood in front of him, causing his vision to drift up and meet yours. “I can’t get in the middle of this.” You turned to leave and he jumped out of the seat after you. “Y/N wait.” You ignored his calls and kept walking. As you approached the entrance of the classroom, you saw Daeson leaning elegantly on the lockers across the hall. She was waiting for him. Her face only made it clear that she had been crying. You stopped in place, and Jungkook grabbed your shoulder. You shrugged his hand off of you, and turned towards him. “No. Go talk to her. I don’t want to split you apart.” You whispered, pointing towards Daeson. His eyes followed your finger, and you could visually see him sink when he spotted her. You took advantage of his moment of distraction, slipping away and disappearing down the hall.
This time you chose cold comfort. The full bowl of ice cream had now been reduced to a small puddle at the bottom of the dish. Your hair was pulled back into a ponytail as you sat moping around in your sweats. You looked like a mess, but you didn’t care because you felt like a mess. Your door opened softly and you threw one of your shoes at the door, letting the person on the other side know that they are uninvited. Despite your warnings, Jungkook pushes through the door anyways. You sit up on your bed, only to slouch your shoulders and hunch over. “What are you doing here?” You grumbled. You were upset over nothing really, but you didn’t want to see Jungkook of all people at this particular moment in time. “Jin let me in.” You huffed. How did he get on Jin’s good side so fast? “That’s not what I asked.” You sneered back, and Jungkook sighed. He clasped his hands together before moving to sit next to you on your bed. “Listen to me. Daeson may love me, but it would be just as unfair if I kept dating her.” “Why? She is perfect for you.” You were whining like a little girl, and Jungkook was getting visibly tired of it. “She very well may be, but I can’t stay with someone I don’t love.” Your expression softens at this. You let your eyes droop and follow the lines of crumbled fabric over to him. “Why are you telling me this?” You whisper as your gaze meets his. “Because I like you. I like you a lot.” “Well what if I don’t like you?” “The thing is, I think you do.” You turned red at his words, but you were not willing to fall for his charm so easily. You were always the one that was hard to get, who does Jungkook think he is? Does he really think he can catch you this easy? “You thing you’re some kind of mind reader?” He purses his lips and leans back on your headboard. “I know I am. Give me a chance?” He holds out his hand, and you just stare out his outstretched fingers. “I don’t want to be a home-wrecker.” Your eyes flicker between his hands his eyes and the bed below you. “You’re not.” “You don’ know that.” “You’re being ridiculous.” “How can you be sure?” Jungkook pushes himself towards you, and grabs your hands. He gives your arms a small pull, causing you to fall forward onto his chest. He then takes two of his fingers and presses them to your neck, sensing your out of control heartbeat. “I’m sure.” You stare at him wide eyed as a smirk grows on his face. “I told you to leave the door open!” You glance over at the door to see Jin leaning against the open frame. You take the second shoe you had yet to throw and launch it at his face. “Yah! Get out!”
