Growing up I used to love bear hugs.
Call me crazy, but I find a hug to be much more intimate than a kiss. A hug [depending on what kind] can speak volumes that a kiss really can't. Kisses are sensual and say, 'I want you'. A huge is intimate and says, 'I love you and I'm happy to have you in my life'. Most of us know three typical types of hugs: the side hug, the bear hug and the regular 'good seeing' you hug.
Although these three hugs are what most of us are used to, according to hug psychology there when it comes to hugs it's a little more deeper than just the three described above. Believe it or not, sometimes hugs say more than words can say -- which can be good thing for those who don't know how to express their feelings sometimes. They do say, 'actions speak louder than words', I'm beginning to see the truth in that saying. If you're interested in finding out how much louder actions speak and what a hug may real mean -- keep scrolling.
The Cordial Or 'Good Seeing You' Hug
This hug is your typical hug. It doesn't speak as loud, but git says enough. You know that this hug is just enough to reassure you that it's strictly platonic. Both arms usually stay above mid waist and the consoling doesn't last for too long -- if it does, don't question it too much unless followed by a kiss.
The 'We're Just Kickin' It' Hug
Although you're just kickin' it, the hug says otherwise. Unlike the cordial hug, the body language says more. The placement of hands are gripping the shoulders of another which is referred to as a 'heart to heart' hug -- hence the touching of chests. The two parties embracing in the hug know that there are some underlying feelings in the atmosphere, assuring you that this won't be the last of this type of hug.
The 'I Want You' Hug
This type of hug signifies that both parties want more, whether that be physical or mental. These hugs are generally tighter and last somewhat longer than the two listed above. If a guy comes and hugs you from behind, that's the real icing on the cake and that goes to show that he wants to spend time with you. When this hug is performed in public places, it screams something more -- I'm thinking commitment.
