Deadpool is a hopeless romantic.
We know, because his movie is coming out just in time for Valentine's day (less than a month away!) so he's definitely the perfect character to debunk three pieces of terrible dating advice he's seen out there. Let's see what he has to say:
1. "Go to the movies for a first date."
Deadpool thinks this isn't a great idea.
Sure, movies can be fun, but if it's your first date it's probably not a great plan. How are you going to get to know someone if you spend two hours sitting quietly and paying attention to something else? Dinner is always good, but so is a walk in the park, a museum visit, or a tour of every taco truck in town. Anything that will get you two talking!
(Going to the Deadpool movie is a great idea, but there are exceptions to every rule).
2. "Don't say 'I like you' when you do."
Another thumbs down from Deadpool.
He's not suggesting you propose after five minutes of knowing someone (he's tried it, and it did not work out) but letting someone know you like them is always a good plan. Think about the reverse: Doesn't it feel awesome when someone you're interested says 'I like you' or texts you to say they had a nice time with you? If you like someone, let them know! It'll make them feel awesome.
3. "Be an A-Hole."
Deadpool can't say NO loud enough!
Deadpool is always straight-forward. There's nothing like a ninja star to the eye to tell someone to stop strapping bombs to school busses, and there's definitely nothing like a million pancakes to show someone you care. Being an A-Hole (showing up late, being dismissive or insulting, acting disinterested) sends one message: I'm an A-Hole. Run.
Deadpool just wants everyone to be happy.
And the best way to do that is to have fun, and seek out people that want to have fun with you! Deadpool hopes there are lots of cool dates and hot chimichangas in your future.
