Losing teeth as a kid was kind of weird. Instead of dealing with acne breakouts or another grey hair, one day we'd just randomly discover one of the teeth that had seen us through many years of pizza parties and Everlasting Gobstoppers™ had a little extra wiggle.
Ever notice that most of us forget what we ended up spending our Tooth Fairy money on, but still remember the traumatic and awkward ways those wiggling baby teeth finally fell out?
I remember losing a tooth by repeatedly banging my face against the edge of a kitchen table. Don't do that. Don't do any of the following either - a compilation of gifs I made of kids losing their teeth in equally ridiculous ways.
(Also, you know, be glad most of us lost our baby teeth before the YouTube era.)

WARNING: If you're freaked out by teeth being yanked out, don't scroll down. (I know there's some of you out there.)

First, there's this mini Katniss Everdeen, who tied her loose tooth to a slingbow.

Then there's the kid who let a parrot pull his tooth out, which is already more intimacy than I'd be willing to have with a bird.

And here's a new way to put that minicopter you got for Christmas to use.

This dad is just twisted. He tied his daughter's tooth to a toy car and then launched it over a ramp AND the family cat.

Finally, there's the seriously priceless face on this kid - who just lost his tooth to a Chevrolet Camaro.

These are actually just the tip of an iceberg full of creative - yet arguably disturbing - ways parents have helped their kids pull out a loose tooth.

Meanwhile, I'll be here drinking some water to fight off the nausea caused by having to turn tooth extraction videos into entertaining gifs!

my mom wrapped string around my tooth and the doorknob then yanked the door from closed to wide open...I learned to just play with it until it fell out. Nope no trauma there.
@EasternShell Omg, I keep hearing about the doorknob one. My dad used to tell me to do that when I was a little girl, but it seemed so scary.
@danidee it is bc it doesn't always work the first time.
@EasternShell SHUDDER.
