Hey Vingle Nakama!!
2016 promises to be jam-packed with awesome new anime and manga, and new seasons and new OVAs and all kinds of awesome Otaku delights.
One of the new anime coming this year that I'm excited for is Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear. the manga follows Machi, a middle school student who serves as a shrine maiden at a Shinto shrine and takes care of a bear, who lives on mountain in Japan's northern Tohoku region. The bear, Natsu, has the ability to talk and is Machi's guardian. When Machi explains to Natsu that she will attend a school in the city, he gives Machi a set of trials that she must pass in order to be able to survive city life.
I'm excited for this because though I really love Shonen anime, I really also love weird slice-f-life pieces, and this one is vaguely supernatural. Natsu is a bear with a shrine all to himself, and Machi is the designated maiden of that shrine. Natsu is a bit of a worrywart and so decides to test Machi (who knows almost nothing about the world) when she says she wants to go into the city for school.
The anime looks super cute, and I'm a sucker for human/animal friendships.
Kuma Miko should be coming out some time this spring, around April.

According to the Anime News Network, "the anime will star Natsumi Hioka (Witch Craft Works' Kotetsu Katsura) as Machi Amayadori and Hiroki Yasumoto (Bleach's Chad, Hetalia's Germany, Yowamushi Pedal's Shingo Kinjō) as Natsu Kumai."
