Hello, fellow sports fans! I will be joining the staff of the sports community here on Vingle, and I'm super excited to help the community grow!
First, a little bit about me. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois but I grew up in Arizona. As a result, I am a huge fan of Chicago and Arizona sports teams. My favorite sports are American football, hockey, basketball, baseball, tennis, and football (the kind where you actually use your foot most of the time). As a result, I am a die-hard fan of the: Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, Chicago Cubs, and Arizona D-Backs. I'm also a Northwestern Wildcat through and through!
As a Bears fan, you know I love Mike Ditka. He's definitely in my top 5 for coaches, attitudes, and mustaches!
Two of my favorite American football players are Brian Urlacher and Larry Fitzgerald. They both have had a big impact on my experience as a fan, and are just two of many that I've had the privilege of meeting. Urlacher was a huge playmaker on the Lovie Smith defenses that nobody wanted to face, and helped lead them to a Super Bowl appearance where they ultimately lost to Peyton Manning's Colts. Fitzgerald has long been the best offensive weapon for the Cardinals and, alongside Anquan Boldin and Kurt Warner, led the Cards to a Super Bowl appearance. These two may not have any Super Bowl rings, but I could care less (unless Fitz does get one this year, then I would be ecstatic!)
As for hockey, Shane Doan of the Coyotes and Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks are two captains that top my personal fave list for hockey! Doan has stuck with the Yotes through everything, and is still the heart and soul of the team. Toews, along with Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and the gang have won an astounding 3 Stanley Cups in the last 6 seasons. They've created tons of awesome highlights and memories along the way!
As for basketball, Steve Nash and Michael Jordan are my top two. Nash made the Suns one of the most exciting teams in the NBA during his strong run with them, and is my all-time favorite point guard. MJ needs no explanation :P.
And then there's baseball! Yeah, I know Sammy Sosa did PEDs and all that, but I didn't understand all that stuff back then. To me, he's still a childhood hero. Randy Johnson was a force of nature when he was at the peak of his game, helping to bring home the D-Backs lone World Series title. He's my favorite pitcher of all time.
Other than those more obvious athletes from some of my favorite teams, here are a few more that I love to watch in action!
Novak Djokovic isone of my favorite tennis players ever and always plays his best. Ever since his first Grand Slam title at the Aussie Open in 2008, he's been my personal favorite player to watch and follow.
Rounding out my list are Sergio Ramos Jan Vertonghen, two stellar football defenders. I hopped on the Real Madrid bandwagon when el fenomeno Ronaldo played there, but I prefer defensive players more than anything. I just recently decided to focus on one EPL team, and settled on Tottenham thanks to @InPlainSight. I've always considered Vertonghen to be one of the best defenders in the EPL, but I've taken a stronger liking to him now.
Even though I favor certain teams, I watch as much sports as I can! I'm so excited to have this opportunity to help spread the love of all sports to as many people as possible! Shout out to @mchlyang for being such an awesome moderator! Also special shout out to @christianmordi, @jeff4122, and @InPlainSight, and @Straightshooter in particular for making my Vingle sports experience a fun one so far!
Since I shared my favorite teams and athletes, I'd love to hear yours! Leave a comment if you'd like to share!
I hope I can get to know you all a lot better! Let's make this community even greater!

Awesome @KyleBerke!
Awesome card @KyleBerke! I may have to do one myself soon should I ever get time lol But that aside this is awesome. I actually would like to see this years superbowl won by either the Cardinals or Panthers but Im okay with Denver.
