Stars call for Oscars boycott over a lack of diversity among nominees
The Oscars has a serious problem on their hands this year.
Due to the lack of diversity in the nominations at this years Academy Awards, filmmaker Spike Lee and actress Jada Pinkett Smith have announced that they are boycotting this year's ceremony.
"We cannot support it and [I] mean no disrespect ... But, how is it possible for the second consecutive year all 20 contenders under the acting category are white? And let's not even get into the other branches," Lee wrote on Instagram. "Forty white actors in two years and no flava at all. We can't act?! WTF!!"
Pinkett Smith said she would not even watch the Oscars on TV this year during a video she posted on Facebook on the subject matter. Her husband, Will Smith, had been considered an Oscar contender for his role in "Concussion" but was not nominated.

Has the Oscars made a mistake with the awards ceremony this year? Have they unjustly snubbed African-American actors with nominations this year?

I Think they are being way to overly sensitive. if they want to blame something then blame Hollywood and the producers. THEY are the ones who hire actors, and I have seen. a lackluster of diversity in recent moves. The Oscars are just an award show and the people vote for what they see on the big screen.
