Cespedes to Baltimore?

My good friend @jeff4122 wrote a very touching letter to the owners of the New York Mets, asking them to re-sign Yoenis Cespedes. (You guys can check it out here ---> A letter to the Mets' owners)
But shortly after reading his well-written, well thought-out, very touching card, I came across an article claiming the Baltimore Orioles might sign Cespedes who is still out in the free agent market.

The reason?

His love for seafood.

As you can see from the picture above, good old Yoenis not only loves to play baseball, he also loves to crush some crabs before his games. And to top it all off...

Jimmy's Seafood, a famous seafood restaurant in Baltimore, offered Cespedes free crab cake for life if he signed a deal with the Baltimore Orioles!

Jimmy's Seafood twitted a personalized message to Cespedes with a picture of their famous crab cake. They also did not forget to poke a little fun at New York's pizza!
And a little bonus as well.

Baseball fans, do you think this is a good enough reason for Cespedes to sign with the Baltimore Orioles?

Well, actually it makes financial and baseball sense because David Robertson is asking for 4 years, $52 million. The overall thinking is this. Miller is 16 million cheaper, has been as good (if not better) than Robertson over the past 2 years, and does not have draft pick compensation. So in reality Robertson = Miller + a first rounder since Robertson would bring in a compensatory pick if he were to sign with another club.

Joe Maddon wins Manager of the Year
Not that this is terribly surprising, but it's newsworthy all the same: Joe Maddon is the National League's Manager of the Year. The Cubs went 97-65 this season, a year after going just 73-89. They made the playoffs via the Wild Card and progressed to the NLCS, where they were eventually swept by the Mets in four games. Maddon's presence with the team certainly went a long, long way to turning things around for one of the league's most troubled franchises. It's not all about Maddon, though - this Cubs team was nothing like the 2014 edition. The emergence of young future (and even present) superstars like Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber turned this team on its head. The youngsters, combined with amazing seasons by Anthony Rizzo and pitcher Jake Arrieta made the Cubs one of the most feared teams in the National League. Many had them picked to win the World Series before they ran into the piping-hot Mets in the NLCS. They met an unstoppable force and couldn't pull it off, but had a great season nonetheless. In a somewhat surprising move, the Mets' Terry Collins finished third in Manager of the Year voting behind Maddon and Mike Matheny of the Cardinals. Sure, the Cardinals finished with the best record in baseball, but if you ask me, what Collins did as manager was more impressive than Matheny's work. The Mets' head honcho took a minor league roster and guided them through a brutal first half of the season before picking up some huge mid-season acquisitions and turning on the style late in the season, reaching the World Series before falling to the Royals. Sure, none of this actually matters, and I think most people pretty much agreed that Maddon would win Manager of the Year. Many probably picked Collins to finish second ahead of Matheny, but that's just making an argument for no reason. So, there we have it baseball fans: Maddon, Matheny, Collins. Is this the right order? Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs) Now we all know who Kris Bryant is and we all know he is the most likely player to win NL Rookie of the Year this season. We also know that he is an infielder. But you can put him in any position and you can expect him to do great things, which is exactly what he did in right field. Thanks to Bryant's amazing catch, the Cubs beat the Pirates 2-1 in their second match of their double header last night. 4. Manny Machado (Baltimore Orioles) Manny Machado probably has one of the best range at third base in the league and we saw that last night with the little chopper hit by Dustin Pedroia. Even though Pedroia may not be the fastest guy on the team, you can't ignore the Red Sox second baseman's speed. Machado made that barehand play look so easy and smooth. The Orioles also beat division rival, Red Sox, 6-5. 3. Mike Moustakas (Kansas City Royals) Mike "The Moose" Moustakas knew the importance of last night's game. He went all out, dived, slid, and landed in the rubber track. Oh, and he caught that ball while doing all that. He has finally stepped up for the Royals and has been a leader both offensively and defensively. Moustakas and the Royals blanked the Indians 2-0. 2. Stephen Piscotty (St. Louis Cardinals) Stephen Piscotty, the left fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, made this tremendous catch that was going over his shoulder. The ball was already going by him but he was not going to give up. He dove and made this tremendous catch to put his name in the daily Top 5 Plays of the Day. The Cardinals beat the Brewers 3-1. 1. Carlos Martinez (St. Louis Cardinals) Yes, we've seen something similar with Manny Machado up there, but just in case you guys haven't noticed, Carlos Martinez is a pitcher. The Cardinals' starting pitcher not only pitched eight strong innings, giving up one run, but he also made that incredible play. He was off-balance but he kept his focus and threw a perfect strike to Colten Wong who came into cover first. So, number one goes to Martinez and once again, the Cards beat the Brewers 3-1. The Cubs Have Been Destined To Win The World Series Since 1989
Yupp you read that right and if you believe in the power of Back To The Future (an amazing trilogy that everyone should rewatch right now) then the 2015 World Series is going to the Chicago Cubs in a brilliant sweep. In Back To The Future II time traveling Marty McFly ends up in 2015 with a holographic news story blaring the Cubs have just won the World Series. Thats something that hasn't happened since 1908! Screenwriter Bob Gale recently said that he chose the most unlikely thing to ever happen aka the Cubs winning and the audiences ate it up!! And now, 2 decades later the impossible has become way less impossible!! The Mets have not beat the Cubs in a season game yet this year and will face off with them tomorrow night. And as a New Yorker, I can't help but root for the Mets since my Yankees have let me down so hard. Butttttt, as someone who is so ready to get mind blown, the Cubs winning would just prove that time traveling exists ..... right?
