The Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA, but it seems as if the fans have no respect at the moment for the product they put on the floor.
One of their best players is point guard Isiah Thomas. Isaiah Thomas is putting up All-Star numbers this season, but it’s not being reflected in the fan voting totals. Thomas, 26, dismisses the whole notion as an exercise in ignorance.
Isaiah Thomas on whether he should make the All-Star team: "I think I should. But I’ve been gypped all my life." Thomas later said, “Put my numbers up against anybody in the NBA and they’re right there. It’s only questionable because I’m 5-9."
Brad Stevens made a big pitch for his point guard, who would have to be voted onto the team by coaches.
“I’m biased but the one thing I do believe in the All-Star thing is that those spots are earned,” said Stevens. “He’s sure done a lot of work. He’s not only a dynamic scorer, but the way he’s been able to run offense and defend for us — obviously he’s elevated our team. As far as putting the ball in the basket, over the last few weeks he’s been as good as anybody. That consistency merits that honor. There’s a lot of good players in the league — I understand that. I don’t know if they’re all as impactful on our team as Isaiah is on ours.”
At the moment, Thomas is averaging 22 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds per game.

Does Isaiah Thomas Deserve To Be An NBA All-Star?

Unfortunately, the all-star game isn't a measure of greatness anymore. It's just a popularity contest. It sucks that he didn't get recognized by the fans but what's more important is his performance on the court every game.
For me personally, my only focus is who gets to start. As @Bobs have pointed out in another card, the All-Stars is just an opportunity to put on a show. So, I guess I would want to see Thomas in the all-star because he can definitely put on a show.
