Steak with onions is definitely something I had often growing up. And it's actually a very inexpensive meal.
With a side of white rice, pink beans, and tostones -- you've got yourself a legit Puerto Rican plate.
What You'll Need:
2 pounds of beef steak (thinly sliced)
1 large white onion (sliced in rings)
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
1 cup of water
1 packet of Sazon
1 teaspoon of Adobo
How To Make It:
1) Season steak with Sazon, minced garlic, oregano, and Adobo. Mix well and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
2) In a pot over medium heat, add oil. Add the beef. Add some water as needed, to braise. After liquid is at a boil, bring heat down to low heat. Cover.
3) Semi fry/cook the meat until it's tender. This takes about 40 minutes. For the last 10 minutes, add the onion.
