One of the best surprises in the NBA this year is the emergence of international rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis.
Many expected KP to a be a three year minimum project before the Knicks could see exactly what they drafted. Instead, KP has taken the league by storm and showed he was ready to make an immediate impact.
While no one is surprised that the Wolves or Lakers chose Karl Towns or DeAngelo Russell, many are wondering: Did the 76ers get it right by taking Jahlil Okafor over KP?
From Marc Berman of the New York Post:
Sources have indicated Philly ownership was gung-ho to take one of the Big 3 — Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor or D’Angelo Russell — because taking another unknown European project may not have sat well with a disenchanted fan base.
And, as Pro Basketball Talk notes:
Who knows whether Hinkie would’ve drafted Porzingis anyway? Porzingis reportedly wouldn’t even interview with Hinkie. Plus, consensus opinion rated Towns (No. 1 to the Timberwolves), Russell (No. 2 to the Lakers) and Okafor (No. 3 to the 76ers) ahead of everyone else.

Who do you think is going to have a better career when it's all said and done: Jahlil Okafor or Kristaps Porzingis?

@Bobs Hahahahaaha exactly. Let's give it some time.
this is the same argument I bet they have had in 84 when Sam Bowie was drafted ahead of GOAT. Too early to say....let's wait like 15 years later
So I guess all I can say is that we will have to wait a few more years to see what they become! I feel like both players have the potential to be top class!
Well people would not have had this conversation when the Knicks first drafted Porzingis. Still can't forget the reactions the fans had when they found out the Knicks drafted Porzingis!
