Many people expected the Knicks to be a bad team again this year, but the franchise has shown great promise this year.
At the moment the Knicks are 22-25, which is good for 3rd in the Atlantic Division. With a nice winning streak, New York could be back in the playoff mix this year.
While the roster has shown great improvement this year, their one glaring weakness is at point guard. While many thought it would be an unsolvable problem until the off-season, the rumor mill has churned out news that Jeff Teague could be available.
The Knicks are one of several teams to express interest in the 27-year-old Teague. Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that Atlanta has been discussing potential Teague trades with multiple teams.
If the Knicks want to include a first-round pick in a trade, their earliest trade-eligible pick is in 2018. New York also has a glut of big men, so Kevin Seraphin and Kyle O’Quinn may be available.
Some of the best options available could be Rajon Rondo or Mike Conley. Teague made the all-star team last year and is playing solid basketball this year. He is also under contract until 2017, so the Knicks would get at least two years of Teague on the team if they liked.
