As you know, I am ALLLL about body positivity; which means I stalk body positive articles like its my job (why isn't it my job WHYYYY). But then after reading an article I do the one thing body positive people should NEVER do;
I read the comments.
And let me tell you, I just get disgusted with the WORLD. Most negative comments always try to bring up that body positive activists are trying to spread their unhealthy lifestyles and their just "too lazy to be normal pretty."
Please, do me a favor and shut the fuck up, because you have no idea what you are talking about.

New Flash- HEALTH AND BODY SIZE DOES NOT ALWAYS GO HAND IN HAND!

Yes, of course, I am not naive, if you do not eat healthy or exercise you more then likely will be bigger but that isn't always the case and you certainly can not tell someones fucking life choices based on a picture of them!
Some people are bigger. Beautiful women like Tess Holliday are bigger, yet she works out 4 times a week with a personal trainer. She just is BIGGER.
Then there are some people like Nela Zisser who is a standard model (very small) who consumes over 10,000 calories regularly for eating challenges. But does anyone worry about her cholesterol?

No, because she isn't fat.

But that isn't even the biggest issue. People aren't just relating body size to health, they are basing someones beauty, their self esteem, their confidence, on a faux idea of a total strangers"health". And not only that, but people seem to believe that they have the RIGHT to comment on someones personal health if they are anything bigger then a size 6!! What the fuck.
Some people are happy to be bigger, some people love that they have a body big enough to fit their fantastic personality. Some people just don't feel the need to take up less space to make someone else happier. And if that person is happy, you have no fucking right to decide they are not healthy enough to be beautiful, to be happy, to love themselves.
Health does not determine beauty, so stop trying to bring the bad bitches down. They don't have time for you.

omg I say this all the time... I hate reading comments on body positive postings... Most people dont want to be obese or overweight (if you do, we'll that's cool too), but everyone, EVERYONE deserves to feel beautiful in the body they have.
for real. I love myself just the way I am. But I am going to make some healthier choices but not because of the way I look I just want to be healthier. I don't need anyone to tell me I unhealthy, ugly, pretty, or not their type of whiskey or tea. because I loved me the way I am and if you can't love me for being me you can get out of my life even if you are family.

your right with not all skinny people are healthy because there are "skinny fat people" (skinny people with the fat stored in them around organs other than visibly around body) there is no good thing about being larger than you should be, and using "im beautiful because im big" as an excuse is lying... we are trying to cut down on weight around the world and saying its ok to be large is fighting agaisnt it. Then there is the excuse "ive tried to lose weight it just doesn't work" well large companies do see obesity as a problem and theyre more than likely to sell you their product and business and your more than happy to buy it just saying it didnt help you last year that slim quick wont help you this year try something else, look up the science of getting fat for yourself and make your own diet off of what you find

I am so sick of opening a magazine and being bombarded with all the ways to make myself beautiful. Now, I am not one to wear that much makeup (mostly because I am terrible at it and people that can make ombre lips are artists), but its hard not to feel out of place and less attractive when you aren't in a full face and cute shoes. But lets be real, beauty tips are awesome and weight loss tips are usually a lie, but here are some REAL LIFE BEAUTY TIPS that every person should know before they start dabbling in the make up and fashion world. And for some reason, no magazine is teaching them. 1. No size is the Wrong Size Everyones body is different and yet, everyone is still just as beautiful as the next person! So keep that in mind before you try and squeeze yourself into the size you think is the "beautiful size", because I know we all have that one number in our head. Reaching your goal size will not make everything perfect, because you already are perfect. 2. With or without make up you look great! The make up debate is stupid and needs to stop. If you wear make up because you feel more comfortable or just love putting it on then rock it! If you hate make up you still look amazing. There is no reason make up should be that big of an issue and there is no reason someone should feel uncomfortable even going to the bathroom without it on. We live in a world where no women can live her life without being shamed because she is fat, skinny, tall, short, flat chested or rocking triple E's. So you would think that women would unite together, say screw the impossible standards that our bodies are scrutinized under and support each other, right? Too bad the support ends once people (who aren't ever health care professionals) deem a human being too "unhealthy" and "obese" for common human decency. And that my friends is what we call fat shaming. Fat Shaming [noun] : the unkind and usually public criticism of someone for being overweight. Recently comedian Nicole Arbour posted a video entitled "Dear Fat People" in which she claims fat shaming doesn't exist, compares fat people to Frankenstein, says she can outrun fat people by just walking, and even makes some racial slurs about curvy black women in their sunday best. I'm sorry but WHAT?! This hateful, public video criticizing and making fun of fat people is the very definition of fat shaming and if you don't believe me see above definition. Unfortunately this video has racked up more than 18 million views and 177,000 likes on Facebook alone. Luckily body positive super star and TLC's very own Whitney Thore from My Big Fat Beautiful Life has come to the rescue of insecure women everywhere who don't find anything funny in this fat shaming, cyber bulling video attempting to be passed off as comedy. Thore's response has more than 10.2 million views and nearly 180,000 likes on Facebook and counting! I will share this video till forever. But seriously, here are 3 very important things to come out of this video! 1. Thore makes comments on the fact that while heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety and depression are all prevalent in over weight people, they are just as common in skinny people! You can not tell someone's health just by looking at them! 2. She admits that she once suffered from an eating disorder. What confuses me is that Arbour would never criticize someone with an eating disorder however the shaming begins once healthy isn't the correct size for her. 3. And this is the most important...Arbour seems to be delusional if she thinks that calling out fat people to "motivate them", will kick start them into losing weight. To bad Thore has don't the research. Studies show fat shaming and "funny videos motivating fat people" (eye roll), do the opposite of motivate. In fact videos like these will lead so many women and men alike to feel even more insecure, afraid to go to the gym for fear of judgement, and push them further into unhealthy physical and mental lifestyles. So think about that before finding body shaming of any kind funny, because you might have one person laughing at the joke but you will force way more people then that further into recluse. Thankfully we have body positive superstars like Whitney Thore there to remind everyone that she loves them and they are perfect and beautiful and that happiness isn't reserved for a certain size waist. All I can say is a very eloquent Fuck Off to Nicole Arbour. You are not a comedian, and that video you posted is cyber bullying and will do more harm then your comedy will ever do good.
