*These rules will change depending on the category*
1. If voting, you must listen to all of the songs before making your final decision. (If you are not willing to listen to every song then please don't vote at all).
2. Personal biases should be put aside, this is not a popularity contest, this is voting to determine who you think released a better debut song.
3. When you have decided who you want to vote for, please write your vote in the comments section and tell us why you voted for that particular song or your vote will not be counted.
Please ask yourself, "Am I voting for this because I think it is the best debut song? Or is it because it is my bias group/band?"
Well.....this is a tough category. I dunno bout y'all, but I have no idea who I'm voting for. Hopefully it'll be easier for you guys & dolls to pick a favorite!
CHOIX2__LOVE OR DIE
This boy came out swinging for his debut with the title track Love Or Die. His voice is R&B but this song has a pop rock feel with the strong guitar and driving bass. Not a typical kpop song but definitely one you'll remember.
THIS MAN DID TIME.....15 years in fact. As a trainee....which could be considered prison depending on the company, buttttttt let's get back on track. JYP was hiding this man's voice from us for 15 YEARS. He finally made his debut this year with the track, You. With that eternity spent as a trainee under his belt, his voice is phenomenal!
JONGHYUN (of SHINee)__CRAZY
Chains....oiled chocolate abs....and Jonghyun's sweet vocals. He took this solo debut far from SHINee's flower boy image slaying Shawols in his wake. Which sounds brutal....but trust me it didn't hurt a bit.
I'm AOMG biased....but putting that aside... there's no denying this man has some honey dripping from his vocal chords. This track, produced by Gray, has an ambient vibe that you can chill to orrrr do....you know...other stuff ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).....
NIEL (of Teen Top)__LOVEKILLER
This track slowly builds from the acoustic guitar in the beginning and settles into a mid tempo dance groove. Neil's vocals are hella smooth and I know this ain't the dance category but dang, boy killed that choreography....js.
TAEIL (of Block B)__INSPIRING
This ballad showcased Taeil's amazing vocals and his ability to covey such emotion thru his voice. (Yes....I shed a tear at first listen...don't judge me.) And the MV (╥_╥) bruhhhh you can't leave me hangin' like that......
Babylon.....uugghh this tiny but mighty bias wrecker .....*ahem* He officially debuted in July with the single, Prayer. Honey smooth vocals and moves like Jagger, the boy is like the long lost love child of Crush & Taeyang.
LEE HONG GI (of FTIsland)__INSENSIBLE
Hong Gi's husky powerful vocals took this ballad to the next level. Emotional and dynamic....this song makes me wanna flick my BIC and raise it to the sky ヽ(^。^)ノ
Side note.....sounds great in theory but such a FIRE HAZARD.
PARK KYUNG (of Block B)__ORDINARY LOVE
I definitely have a soft spot for rappers who can sing....and Kyung Cucumber definitely fits the bill. Released in September, the song has this leisurely bounce to it that fit well with the Autumn season. The melody is cute and catchy....Don't even get me started on the MV. I don't think the world can handle more than one Kyungie.
JUNG YONG HWA (of CNBLUE)__MILEAGE
The easy Sunday morning groove of this song paired with Yong Hwa's sweet vocals was a welcomed treat for my ears. The MV is hilarious.... unless you have automatonophobia but even then, the song is still a jam.
CHANCELLOR__SON E GA
Chancellor is known by several names in the industry.... Kim Jung Seung, Michael Kim, One Way's Chance, The Channels, and Mikey from the top producing team, Duble Sidekick. But he made his official debut under the name Chancellor with this neo-soul track. Its a TOADal jam that's worthy of that horrid but awesome YG head bob.
DΞΔN__I LOVE IT
This producer turned R&B crooner is a bringer of the next plague.... DΞΔNfluenza. Rolling bass, sweet synths and DΞΔN's intoxicating vocals...."I Love It" is a solid slow jam that is appropriate in all situations.
