Set the mood for your Valentine's Day plans with these cute love lanterns. This project is pretty easy and cheap to make. This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at Lights.com Blog.
For this project, you will need:
-- Glass jar
-- Pink paint (matte finish)
-- Painter's tape
-- X-acto knife
-- Black permanent marker
-- Battery-powered string of lights
You can find all of these items a craft store.
Put painter's tape on the jar
Put piece of painter's tape on the front of the glass jar. Then, use the black permanent marker to draw a heart on the painter's tape, as shown in the picture above.
Cut out the tape
Use the X-acto knife to cut around the heart outline of the painter's tape.
Paint the glass jar
Use the spray paint to completely paint all of the glass jar. You may need to do a few coats of paints to make the color really pop. Allow the paint to dry completely. Then, remove the painter's tape heart from the jar.
Add twine to the top of the glass jar. Add any other detailing to the glass jar. Then, put the battery-powered string of lights in the glass jar.
Set up the love lanterns in your living space and enjoy!
