So here I am with a review of a KDrama! Did you miss me? I hope you did because if you didn't, I'd be very sad. But let's get this review started! By the way, nothing I say is a spoiler.
Dokgo Ma Te (Jang Keun Suk) is the most beautiful man in the world. He is also an ambitious man and wants to make a lot of money using his beautiful appearance. Dokgo Ma Te meets Hong Yu Ra, the ex-daughter-in-law of a rich family. Hong Yu-Ra recognizes Dokgo Ma Te's ambitions and becomes his mentor. Hong Yu Ra then gives Dokgo Ma Te a mission to seduce 10 different women. The women have all succeeded in different fields and Dokgo Ma-Te is to glean their special abilities. Kim Bo Tong(IU) is a girl that has been in love with him for 10 years and has followed all his movements with admiration. With her help, can Dokgo Ma Te become successful and can Kim Bo Tong be granted her one wish in life which is to make Dokgo Ma Te love her?
Okay.....let me just start by saying THE TEARS!!!! Let me just warn you now: It seems like a funny show and then it gets real serious, real quick. Throughout the whole show, I was so emotionally invested because it seemed to have real world problems. Kim Bo Tong and David Choi chasing after love is something we all can probably relate too. IU captures the essence of chasing after a love because she ends up embarrassing herself a lot which I am guilty of and I'm sure you are too. And the ending is the sweetest ending on the planet and I want the ending to happen to me in real life. It is the epitome of goals.
Quick Mini Story Time
I actually finished the drama at home while my mom was also home and I walked up the stairs slower than a zombie that's been run over by a tractor, okay. I went to her room, flopped on the bed and started crying and smiling...and laughing...and talking all at the same time. I was mumbling incoherent sentences that made sense to me because I watched the show, but made no sense to her because A) I could barely speak properly and B) she didn't watch the show. I literally just kept repeating, "He put it in the wrap!" And then proceeded to cry/laugh just to repeat it again or say something else.
Recommend or Nahhh
Yaaaaas!!!! I'm serious, this show is really cute and it also made me realize that you need people to succeed. Maybe don't use them in the way Ma Te did, but he did need them and their connections. It showed me being nice takes you a long way. So, have you watched Pretty Man? What were your thoughts? If you haven't, please, please explain to me what you are waiting for. *Also, can we just address how cute it is that IU is in heels, but she still needs a box to stand on to see over Jang Keun Suk's shoulder?
