UNIQ ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE! *SOTD*

Why does all of Uniq's songs make me smile, especially this one..Its so catchy and vocals and rap line is so good. I can never have a favorite in their songs because I love all of them
I really hope Uniq makes a comeback soon... I really miss them!!! But for now I will just watch them on the V app(they are so cute on there)

So I looked up BTS on google just to find their Wikipedia and an article from Teen Vogue came up. Guys! K-pop is invading! They listed 12 newer boy groups that were making their way onto the music scene. And out of those, 3 were K-pop groups: EXO, UNIQ, and BTS! Although I kind of dislike the premise of the article, groups for replacing One Direction. Kinda mean to refer to them as replacements. They did describe the groups pretty well! And I realize that they probably weren't trying to replace anyone but wanted to write about some boy bands and needed a hook, so I forgive it. UNIQ Silly One Takes
One Takes are some of the cutest and goofiest things you'll see! I thought I'd share some of my favorites! They're pretty short and let us see their personalities! I hope you like them as much as I do ^_^ This was for an ad photo shoot. It shows them being the down to earth goofballs they are! length- 3:06 This is Wenhan pretending to play the guitar. Which is funny because he's a professional level guitarist. Such odd, much 4D. length- 0:34 The love hate relationship of Yibo and Seungyoun. Yibo is so forgiving. And Seungyoun is a true friend for laughing at him. Side note: Yixuan is a freaking god. He can hold up both Wenhan and Yibo. He wasn't flinching or falling in the slightest as Seungyoun was attempting to latch on. Which is why he can constantly give Wenhan piggy back rides. length- 1:07 Maknae and fake maknae here, making us realize that there's a reason they have to pretend. length- 0:46 The magician Seungyoun. My Sister Describing K-Pop Groups, Plus Memes
So my older sister, 29, got into k-pop about 6 months ago. She used to give me a ton of shit for my K-pop love. So it makes me happy when she wants to listen to it or add it to play lists for parties. But the thing is, she never remembers names of the groups or members. So she has great ways of describing them to me so I can tell her what to look up for songs she likes. "They sound like legit hip hop, just in Korean" aka BTS She's a huge fan of West coast rap. Like Coolio, Khalico, and Warren G. When I told her they were recognized as talented and worked with them, she was all in. I showed her War of Hormones first and she was hooked. She's definitely into them and knows who BTS is. Except the members names... "The group with way too many guys too keep straight." or "The one that does Monster and I love that one." aka EXO She'd ask if she was consistently calling them attractive or cute to make sure she wasn't getting them too mixed up. She really likes a lot of their music. The only song she didn't care for was Call Me Baby. She's a fan though. "Bunny alien" group aka B.A.P She knows them now. Not their individual names, but she knows them by looking at them. She basically had to learn who they were considering they're mine and her son's all time favorite group. She likes a few songs. "They're all tall, it's Chinese, they do like...everything" group aka UNIQ The fact they were all 6 feet or close to 6 feet tall really surprised her. "Is this how they decide who becomes famous or something? Like if you're tall they find you and make you an idol?" She's funny. I showed her singing clips, choreography videos, beatboxing, and told her about their random talents. So she basically refers to them as the does everything group. She knows there's Koreans in the group, but since the company they're under is Chinese, she goes with that. "That fast rapper in BTS, the one that's always going hard" aka Suga aka AGUST D She finally knows and recognizes Suga and even knows his other moniker AGUST D because she loved that album. She actually gets irritated when my nephew pronounces Suga wrong. She likes her some Suga. Especially since he loves producing. *bias alert "abs guy with a baby face in BTS" aka Jimin I basically killed her by showing her the dance battle that Hobi and Jimin did at an award show. When he tore his shirt off, her jaw dropped. So he's abs guy until further notice. She loves when he does the flip over Hobi. "The really good dancer in BTS, the one that raps in a, uhm, different way" aka J-Hope We all know he sounds a bit different than Suga and Rapmon. He's got very different inflection and speech patterns that make him a pretty unique rapper. Better believe she loves 1Verse. "I wanna fuck that rapper" aka Rap Monster of BTS Yeah...she really liked him. Like immediately. Pretty sure he was her first ever bias especially since he was pretty deep with his solo stuff. But she doesn't get biases yet. "Aaron Carter" aka Seungyoun from UNIQ aka Luizy The platinum blonde hair and haircut in the Listen To Me choreography video is all she remembered. But after hearing and watching Recipe, she doesn't see Aaron anymore thank goodness. Now she knows Luizy. She sees a real rapper and thinks it's cool he's working on the lyrical and production side of music at such a young age. "Baby-faced Deer" aka Luhan She learned his name pretty quick. Mostly because of the song Lu. But she really loves his music, which always makes me happy. She's constantly and randomly going, "Luuu, Luuu." That's when she doesn't replace it with, "Moooo, mooo." "The tall one from the huge group that I found really attractive. Lots of bass in his songs" aka ZTAO She knows his name and loves his singing and rap. She'd say he was attractive in each video we watched. She was happy she was consistently calling him good looking and/or sexy. In Call Me Baby when he was standing with the other guys she lost her shit. "He's so fucking tall!" "The singer who's like a cute awkward penguin, you know, the short one" aka Kyungsoo of EXO When I showed her the Open Arms cover, she saw him and thought he looked so awkward compared to all the others. He swayed nervously and stared at the floor. She thought he was cute in all the music videos. When I said people call him a penguin, she says, "Yeah. I can see it." "The one that was cute until they dyed his hair way too blonde" aka Kai of EXO She thought he was cute, but Overdose changed her mind. She thinks he's cute in every other video, so long as he doesn't have the super blonde hair. Idol Rappers Can Be Rappers
Alright, time to delve into some possibly dangerous waters. This is @MadAndrea recommending that you might want to grab a life vest, just in case. Keep in mind, this is not saying anyone left out of this list, is or is not a rapper. They just aren't my personal top 3. You may disagree, that's what opinions are all about; but give it a thought as you read. If your opinion differs, please comment and let me know. Or let me know your favorites. However; Vingle is a positive place, so comment as such. You can disagree of course and voice that opinion, but please just keep a cool head. Writer @MadAndrea, Planner and K-Pop Monster Blogger Jackson Wang of Got7 responded to this question expertly. I utterly commend him for this. He corrected someone when they said he was a rapper. He instead said that he is simply the person who raps. So what's the difference? A lot. These are just some things that there's been a general consensus on as far as what makes a rapper. 1. They have the ability to keep time and flow. 2. They can use emotion in their voice, they don't sound like they're just conversing or monotone. It's inflection, and rappers have that. 3. They write their lyrics. This is probably the biggest thing that makes a rapper. 4. They either help create the beat or create it on their own. Not required: 1. Speed rap Not everyone can rap like Eminem or Busta, but that doesn't make them less of a rapper. Look at Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, they don't rap fast, but they're respected rappers. Dre is more of a producer, but when he raps it's mellow. 2. Underground or previously underground Not everyone has that opportunity. Many idol rappers get picked up really young and may not have the chance to try that out. Many people live in the middle of nowhere and need to completely uproot their lives to do that. 3. Has a mixtape Could very well be in the works or they don't feel the need. Especially if the work they make is already being put on albums. 4. Has an abrasive attitude No person needs to have a mean mug on their face 24/7. Ice Cube of NWA once wrote a song about how it was a good day and nothing went wrong. Not every rapper needs to be harsh in every song. 5. Can freestyle Personally, I don't consider this necessary. I find it very cool and definitely respect it, but some people can't rap on the fly. Maybe they put a lot of thought into their lyrics so they just can't spit at a moments notice. Some can do both. Now onto the list! Luizy/Luizhino He's better known as Seungyoun of UNIQ, a Chinese/Korean idol group. He was on Show Me the Money. Sadly he didn't get far. But what did he do? He definitely didn't mope and give up. No. He took what he learned and released a few songs. Recipe, Baby Ride, and How Have You Been. The song that greatly displayed his abilities was Recipe(first video on this block) which he made with Flosick. Many people admire Flosick in the Korean hip-hop genre. He took Seungyoun under his wing and produced a song and made a video with him. They actually became pretty good friends in the process. In my opinion, it was his way of helping Seungyoun through the doors of hip-hop by showing that he respected him enough to collaborate. Seungyoun wrote the majority of the lyrics for UNIQ songs and has also worked on the production end of things. He's also had a few personally released songs with M.O.L.A and on his own, one being the song Slave(second video). So he was well prepared for this. Bang Yongguk The leader of B.A.P with a voice that touches the bottom of the ocean. He's written and made several songs that he's truly put his soul into. He raps great, but I find the power and emotion behind his words to be his most endearing trait. Not to mention the lyrics that basically let everyone into the innermost thoughts and his feelings. That's strength. He uses music as a way to deal with his problems. The songs I chose to best show this quality he has, are 4:44 and Q. Idols are people, and they have their own struggles like everyone else. Don't ever forget that. Rap Monster Another great lyricist is Namjoon of BTS. He's got great inflection and not only can he rap fast, but his slow raps are also to die for. He can do meaningful lyrics like in Life or Awakening, or diss lyrics like in Joke. Joke showed his real rapper chops. It took me by surprise. The swearing, the dirty lyrics, the gritty video, and the music itself was far from BTS. It had a slightly disturbed sound to it and the video was just as disturbed. It showed us how much of a rap monster he really is. Life and Awakening show us that his soul is tortured and he has been depressed. He has hard times and he let us in on that. He shared that with us because he trusted fans to support him and not judge him. He was underground for some time and has a mixtape out called RM. Videos: Life, Awakening, Joke, Do You Shout outs to idol rappers I didn't mention, but also love: Zelo of B.A.P - No Title Suga and J-Hope of BTS - AGUST D and 1Verse Shout outs to idols who can change it up and do both: Z.TAO who knows how to bump a beat and turn up the bass - Underground King Luhan who not only made a song in English, but also made use of the classic trap music style - Lu Shout outs to the members who rap, or have rapped, in idol groups and sound awesome: Chanyeol of EXO Yibo and Yixuan of UNIQ Jungkook of BTS Key of SHINee We await possible releases from you in the future showing that you indeed posses all the things a rapper has. Yes they can be fluffy and cute, but don't forget that a rapper lurks inside. Favorite K-pop Papa's
We give so much love for the mama's of K-pop groups but the papa's keep everyone motivated and working hard so they deserve some love too! Because without both, groups would fall apart! So here's my response to the Bulletproof Team's weekly challenge! My favorite K-pop papa's! And yes some of them are a bit out of the ordinary and are not the typical picks; but I have my reasons! He's always tired and worn out from working hard. Energy-wise he probably has a tough time keeping up with his kids. And seriously...the lame jokes he makes are so dad worthy. Sungjoo is my choice for the dad of UNIQ; he is the Korean leader so he gives a lot of support to his group members. He's pretty loving but also goofy/embarrassing like a lot of fathers. He even gave Seungyoun an embarrassing nickname, SpongeBob; and that screams dad. And paired with the other leader Yixuan (aka the mama) they make a perfect team! Not to mention they're adorable together! Bang Yongguk is totally the father of B.A.P! No doubt about it that he's a great leader! He's always smiling and showing his members support. And I mean just look at that happy couple, the perfect parents! G-dragon is such a great leader. He takes on a seriously stern father role sometimes and keeps the guys working hard. But he's also super supportive and goofy with them too. And this is forever my favorite family of non-members.
