Welcome to this week's edition of the Funny Community weekly game - "SO GOOD OR NO GOOD"! At the beginning of every week, I post to ask your opinion on various things that a lot of people either strongly love or strongly hate, and then share the full community results!
Last week I asked you how you felt about ketchup on scrambled eggs! Out of the 102 users who voted either way, ketchup on scrambled eggs was decided to be 'SO GOOD' by 60 voters. (Though that was seriously a close one!)

This week's game features tofu, a soy-based protein all the way from Asia that's been increasing in popularity here in the States.
Do you eat tofu? Is it something you tried and hated, or is it much better than its reputation implies?

Tofu comes in a variety of textures - from super silky to firm.

It can be prepared as stirfry or scrambles, in smoothies or soups, or pretty much any other way you'd use meat or dairy.

However, a lot of people aren't really feeling it. (After all, why go for tofu when you can have a thick, juicy steak?)

I can eat tofu all day erryDAY. Every meal. I would make up extra meals for an excuse to eat more tofu in one day. I would become a tofu. <3TOFU<3
I also love tofu in dessert, now this is a different type of tofu (the different types of tofu depend on how you set it, if it go through a second stage of pressing and some are fried then freeze to achieve different texture), the desert tofu is silky and smooth, comparable to panna cotta, usually served in sweet soup or ginger syrup, can be either warm or icy cold. I like it cold as it's summer in Sydney and it's quite refreshing.
It's funny how people think tofu as replacement for meat therefore compare it to steak, that's simply not the case, it's like comparing polenta square or holumi cheese to steak, tofu is a different food in its own right, there's no comparison. Tofu was not invented because vegetarians, it's a by product of the soy milk which existed in lots Asian cultures, originated in China thousands of years ago. I think people don't like tofu because they don't know how to cook it, you can fry it, steam it, stir-fry it, grill it, braise it, bake it and even blend it like a smoothie! My favourite is to slowly braise it in wine-infused broth (use shao-shin wine or sake or even tawny port, not red wine) with light soy sauce, ginger, shallots and mirin/sugar. So the tofu will suck up all the good flavour and juicy tender on the inside, put in the veggies 10 min before serving, very nice addition to the table in colder months.

well I have done tofu, I have done it in teriyaki, which was awesome! I have done it with cooked salad which was good! Isn't more better than cheese! anyway, I LOVE TOFU! 馃槄
