HELLO EVERYONE. ANOTHER QUESTION.

I spend a lot of time in transit so I play a bunch of mobile games or listen to podcasts but mostly I like fiddling around on my phone with my thumbs. There are a bunch of cool little games that I enjoyed playing because they didn't involve a lot of commitment and I could just put them down whenever I reached my destination or wanted to go to beddy-byes.

Anyway, here's a short list of my favorite mobile games.

Plants Vs. Zombies

Plants Vs. Zombies is one of those games I absolutely got sucked into when I was in college. I spent most of my college career commuting to and from school so when I had large one-to-two hour breaks in between classes, I'd have to find something to do after my homework was done. And that something was Plants Vs. Zombies. I, somehow, never got tired of the formula. It has a weird brand of humor and you generally don't have to do much, you can just put your plants down and watch them do things. It's a real easy game to get into and if you haven't played it yet, you should try it. I think it's free.

Device 6

As one of the two paid games on this list, I had to put this one on there. I don't remember how much exactly the game is but it's definitely worth the price. It's one of the only narrative experiences I've enjoyed on the mobile market. It's a really interesting way to tell a story. The game recommends you play it with headphones in -- this is the ideal way to play by the way, there's a lot more than just reading that goes on -- and the screen shifts and turns as the story goes on. It's like you're reading a book but you have to solve riddles in order to get to the next chapter. If you're into thoughtful riddle-esque games, you should pick this up.

Blackbar

Blackbar has to be one of my favorite games I've ever played on my iPhone. When I bought it, it was super cheap (maybe around 2 bucks) and it was well worth the price. There's a huge story going on in this game as well but the fun I got from it was trying to figuring out the words that have been censored. Essentially, what you do is read an e-mail and try to figure out what's missing based on what was said. It's a simple logic-based word game and I absolutely LOVE word games. If you're into that stuff as well, you should definitely check this one out.
I know I have a weird taste in mobile games. But I want to know what you guys like in terms of your mobile games. Everyone's got their own tastes and I want to know yours! Let me know in the comments or in a card or in a secret coded e-mail! I'll take any option.

I've not been a big fan of mobile gaming. it's not a bad thing, in fact making games accessible to literally everyone is awesome. I just don't like the cookie cutter simplistic nature of most of them. I like character driven narratives, huge open worlds, complicated yet functional mechanics, and a controller. tapping on my phones screen just isn't as, immersive. I got the original Kotor on my phone though, and that's fun.
