29 Days of Marvel Day 4
Alright I've been building up about this long enough. What am I most bitter about?
Yup. I know some of you probably did this one but I really want to vent out my frustrations on this....in detail. 馃槇
Let me start with something I consider to be a bad miscasting. Let me also start by saying that I am, in no shape or form, a racist. I accept all races, ethnicities, and religions. I'm very open about that. However, I also believe that if you're going to bring a writing medium, especially from a comic with colors and pictures depicting a character or characterS, to the big screen, I expect to see the actor/actress playing that part to physically resemble that character. In other words, I don't like how the hired actor to play the Johnny Storm character who looks absolutely nothing like him in the comics. I like Michael B. Jordan. I really do. I think he's a great actor. I liked him in Chronicle and I think he made a comeback as an actor in Creed after Fan4stic (yes I'm calling it that). But he looks nothing like the character!
Even 2005 couldn't do it right!
THIS IS HIM!! Johnny Storm is supposed be, roughly, around 16-18 years old I believe, which explains his reckless and sort of childish behavior. So I don't accept either of those adaptions of the character.
And finally I talk about my biggest issue... The story. It sucks. My God does it suck. Not only that, but it did the SAME EXACT thing 2005's Fantasic 4 did! The heroes did nothing! Literally nothing. Don't think so? Well here's 2005: Four people plus Victor go off into space discover said powers, wreck a little havok because of them but try to fix things, take up 2/3 of the movie learning and controlling their powers rather than going out to save people with them, Victor turns evil, F4 finally do something and beat him. Here's 2015: Four people plus Victor go off into space (or alternate space place thing), get superpowers, return home to discover said powers, wreck a little havok because of them but try to fix things, take up 2/3 of the movie learning and controlling their powers rather than going out to save people with them, Victor turns evil, F4 finally do something and beat him. Yup....absolutely no difference whatsoever besides their age. When I saw the trailer I knew it was going to bomb, but I did still hope that they did something different than the 2005 F4. But no. They kept the exact same formula. So basically there was no need for this reboot. If you wanna remake a movie, fine, but do soent hung that the original DIDNT do!
The end 馃

Once again, I agree on the whole disliking of this movie. It wasn't put together even remotely okay, and it just didn't draw that spark we all know the Fantastic Four team has in the comics. Good rant @redapple615

@EstefanOlivares that's such a good point. Especially with characters like this, where we've already had two movies with the FF. If they want to make it clearer that this isn't the same continuity with a different cast then fine- but why do the same origin story over again?

Which is why Fox should just hand over the character rights of the F4 back to Marvel who could give it to Disney to make a better movie. Is Disney the best movie studio? No, but they bought Marvel in 2009 and what came after 2009 from Marvel and Disney? Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man, etc. The point is let Disney put the mouse ears on F4 cuz they actually know what they're doing.

@redapple615 Disney definitely has the money to recruit the best people in the business, and they make their productions as risk-free as possible. Which in some ways limits them, but it also means they're not going to work with anyone that can't get on board with how they do things (it's probably why Ava Du Vernay isn't doing Black Panther- it's our loss but I understand).
