First of all, let me apologies for the card you are going to read. I don't really "love" ecchi, if not at all, but I don't really hate it either and I will be explaining why I just had to write about this one. I hope you don't lynch me for it and those who have watched it, probably know what's coming. Also, I will ask you to read the -Reasons to Watch- section before you judge.
Once again, ごめんなさい (Gomenasai) and hope you understand. So let's get started~
As you may have noticed with the name of the anime, is about this rebel group that is trying to get their rights to tell dirty jokes back as the society they're living in is one that has completely banned any form of sexual meaning (dirty jokes, porn, sex, etc.) to preserve the purity of mankind. The citizens are also monitored, both in language and hand gestures, with a collar or wristband that alerts authorities when they are doing something they "shouldn't" be doing. Basically if they find you with a playboy magazine, you'll get arrested. The rebel group called (SOX) make hilarious plans to be heard and here's where all the fun of the anime comes in.
The characters are funny AF! I haven't met characters this funny in quite a while. They are all unique with colorful and charming personalities. You are bound to fall in love with at LEAST one of the characters in here. Don't really expect much character development in this type of anime but there is just a tad with some of them. What really makes the anime great is the hilarious banter and crazy relationships these guys have between them. I wouldn't be surprised if people change like the characters in the anime if something like this happened in real life.
The OP & ED are super catchy~ I assure you you will be shouting "S-O-X~ S-O-X~" and waving the SOX flag after you hear them. The voice acting is great (sometimes too good, if you know what I mean ㄱ.ㄱ~). The ambiance music, as always, is fantastic, it sets the mood perfectly and enhances those funny and stupid moments even more. Sometimes I think they focused everything on the sound...way too much but I won't complain as it made the anime that much more hilarious.
-Reasons to Watch-
So here we are, once again, I don't mind "Ecchi-ness" at all because it has become a huge part of anime that honestly we can't live without. Now, the reason why I am recommending this particular anime is because is HI-LA-RIOUS! In this generation where ecchi is all over anime (way too much in my opinion), most animes do it JUST for the sake of being ecchi, because it is the "new hot thing" or fan-service, and they don't have a solid reason to be that ecchi. However, the creators of this anime made it so the main topic of the anime is about sexual innuendo and jokes.
They use those jokes sooo well that you enjoy the actual jokes and anime, rather than making you nervous about who is gonna walk into your room or awkward. It doesn't even have that many ecchi moments, rather they take those and make it a full joke. I will also warn you that there is one very mature scene but for those people who just want to enjoy the comedy, luckily there is a censored version. The story and its jokes are what make this anime so good, I mean even the title is a damn joke. It will also make you think what will happen to our society if became like this.
It really surprised me how much I enjoyed this one, like come on...who doesn't enjoy a dirty joke once in a while. That humor and Japanese humor mixed make a ridiculous combination I tell ya. I wonder how many times I used the word "Ecchi" on this card...the most I've used in my life. I won't say it's a must watch, mostly because there are people who don't enjoy this kind of humor or people like me that are not a huge fan of ecchi animes, but I cannot emphasize it enough, just give it a chance.
* Original and unique storyline
* Great (and best way) use of fan-service
* Amazing humor
* Fantastic animation & sound
* Sometimes, ecchi-ness is way over the top
* Barely any character development
* Lots of sexual vocab (for those younger viewers)
