This is kind of a late post but this Month marks 5 years since I decided to get healthy not to be skinny but to be health. I started out making very small changes walking more, not eating late at night, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, stopped drinking soda. And started to notice I was feeling better and losing weight not a lot of weight but enough to keep me motivated. And everything just kind of snowballed from there to now where I'm very aware of what I put into my body (by reading labels and such) and I workout 6 days a week. But even with all that if someone would have told me I would run a half marathon there's no way I would have believed them but that's exactly what happened on November 1st 2015. Training was a pain let me tell you I started training 9 months in advance and went from running 8 miles a week to running 24 miles a week I also almost got hit by a car twice, encountered some very sketchy men while running in the country at 6am, I got bite by a dog, I lost a toe nail!!! for gosh sacks and my other big toenail is still all black and blue. But crossing the finish line knowing how hard I worked to get there was the best feeling ever and totally worth losing a toe nail lol. P.S. my toenail is almost halfway grown back.
