Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller is joining the team!

If you missed the news that Star Trek is returning to television, you're probably not alone. CBS is keeping the details about the series (coming next January) fairly secret. But if you're still lamenting the finale of Hannibal (or remember Fuller's amazing contributions to Deep Space Nine and Voyager) today is clearly a good day.
Said Fuller:
"My very first experience of Star Trek is my oldest brother turning off all the lights in the house and flying his model of a D7 Class Klingon Battle Cruiser through the darkened halls. Before seeing a frame of the television series, the Star Trek universe lit my imagination on fire. It is without exaggeration a dream come true to be crafting a brand-new iteration of Star Trek with fellow franchise alum Alex Kurtzman and boldly going where no Star Trek series has gone before."
And if that's not enough, executive producer Kurtzman added:
"Bringing Star Trek back to television means returning it to its roots, and for years those roots flourished under Bryan’s devoted care. His encyclopedic knowledge of Trek canon is surpassed only by his love for Gene Roddenberry’s optimistic future, a vision that continues to guide us as we explore strange new worlds."

Sounds like the Trek we all love is getting the television return it deserves!!!

Who else is totally excited???

I grew up on Trek, and while the current movies were fun they didn't really capture the spirit of the show that I loved. Does anyone else think Fuller can pull it off and then some?
@shannonI5 Yesss!!! So excited!!!
He worked on Hannibal, so he'll definitely do some good things for Star Trek. Although I'm not sure how the ratings will set in.
@Patmanmeow definitely. Trek has always struggled with ratings. But the female fans have historically been the ones that saved it, and Fuller definitely has a strong female fan following
