Carmelo Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father is Puerto Rican and his mother is African American. He's an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks.

- In 2005 he established the Camelo Anthony Foundation, where Anthony and his family gives back to the community through a variety of outreach programs and donations.
- He has contributed $1.5 million dollars to the Living Classrooms Foundation. It's a non-profit that provides "provides innovative hands-on-education, job-training and community service programs for over 35,000 children, youth and young adults in the east Baltimore community."
- Anthony committed $3 million toward the construction of a newly planned basketball facility at his alma matter, Syracuse University.
