Chip Kelly may have moved on from the Philadelphia Eagles, but the effects of his era are still felt by fans and players.
Until his last day as the Philly head coach, Kelly's style of play and personnel selections were critiqued heavily across the league. Today a former player during his tenure stepped up and shared his true thoughts on Kelly.
After winning his Super Bowl ring with the Denver Broncos, Evan Mathis broke his silence about Chip Kelly, his former coach with the Philadelphia Eagles.
"There were many things that Chip had done that showed me he wasn't building a championship team," Mathis wrote. "Two of the main issues that concerned me were: 1. A never-evolving, vanilla offense that forced our own defense to play higher than normal play counts. 2. His impatience with certain personality types even when they were blue-chip talents.
"The Broncos team I was on would have eaten Chip alive. I don't think he could have handled the plethora of large personalities."

Do you think this honest critique will effect the way Kelly handles his players in San Fran?

@ChristopherKenn Def. Hopefully the 49ers can add some talent to back Kapernick. He needs better players
@mchlyang saying he is going to affect the team, never stated rather in a good or bad way. the only plus is he seems to turn crappy quarterback into good ones so there is hope for kapernick if they keep him. @DucktheFodgers I am also a little worried but he can't be any worse than tomsula right?
With that being said, even with Adding Kelly I don't see them winning more than 6 or 7 games
Yeah Tomsula was clearly in over his head this year lol
@duckthefodgers I think the issue will be that people don't understand how bad the 49ers were last year.. They were awful. It's gonna take more than a new coach to fix those issues, they need players
