The rumors of Colin Kaepernick's removal from the 49ers have come to an end today.
San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said Wednesday that quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be on the team's roster on April 1, when his $11.9 million base salary for 2016 becomes fully guaranteed.
"The main focus right now is health, getting him healthy. He's done a good job with his rehab. Talking to the medical staff, that seems to be going very well, and [we] just look forward to getting him back and getting him working with this coaching staff."
Kaepernick, 28, is recovering from three surgeries (left shoulder, right thumb, left knee).
Physically, Colin has the build and skill set that fits the type of system Chip Kelly wants to run. He can throw the ball deep down the field and can make plays with his feet when needed.
The problem with CK is his inability to provide nourishment when the pieces around him aren't top tier. Since the 49ers Superbowl run, the team has provided little, if any support in the draft with weapons around him. As a result, his play has dropped dramatically. While many signal callers are able to do less with more, CK has proven at this point in time he isn't one of those guys.

Are the 49ers making the right choice by keeping Colin Kaepernick?

For that much money it would have been better to cut him and find a new quarterback, but it's chip Kelly that is the new head coach and he doesn't care about winning
@EvanYannetti Oooohhhh burn....that hurts haha
Well they need more players that can support him fully! He isn't a top class QB but he can perform well with a good solid roster.
HAHAHAHA I love the way you put it @shagnasty360
Normally I try to provide thoughtful insite on these discussions, but not this time. Lube up, Squidward. The Seahawks D is coming for you.
