Irving played just nine minutes Sunday in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team blamed flu-like symptoms, but the true reason came to light a day later in a press conference.
Irving later said he was not feeling well after discovering bedbugs on a pillow and ending up on a couch instead of his bed at the Skirvin Hilton. He said he didn't get much sleep Saturday night and had a sore back.
This is pretty gross.
"Just imagine how freaked out you'd be if you saw friggin' five big bedbugs just sitting on your pillow," he said. "I woke up itching, and I'm just looking around and I'm like, 'Are you serious right now?' It was 3 a.m., and I was so tired at that point."
"The comfort of our guests is a top priority, and we are very sorry to hear about Mr. Irving's stay," Hilton said. "Since bedbugs can be easily transmitted anywhere and are often lodged in luggage or on clothing, our hotel maintains high levels of vigilance and we perform regular inspections."
Seems like a pretty standard response from the Hilton, but this is still unacceptable. These teams are paying countless dollars to secure a safe and comfortable stay for their athletes. These guys play 82 games a year and countless back to backs. He battles huge players on the court everyday, the last thing he needs to worry about is battling huge bed bugs in his room.

Isn't this the nastiest story you have heard about hotel in regards to a athlete?

thats fucking gross. damn he should make em feel like shit. nobody wants to sleep with bugs
