Is It Time For Kyrie To Move On From The Cavs?
One of the biggest new stories of the decade was Lebron James return to Cleveland.
Not only did Lebron return, but he helped recruit Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Kevin Love in a sign and trade. With Kyrie Irving already on the roster, the Cavs were a favorite to win the championship last year.
While the Cavs made a deep run, the team was dominated in the Finals by the Warriors. The offseason was full of turmoil, and the regular season hasn't been much different. The Cavs fired coach David Blatt and new coach Tyronn Lue has seemed to be over his head on most nights.
To make matters worse, Stephen A. Smith let loose rumors that Kyrie Irving may be on his way out the door via free agency. Is this a bad thing for both sides though?
“Dating back to last year, I’ve been told that Kyrie Irving ain’t too happy being in Cleveland,” Smith stated on First Take this morning. “The situation is not ideal for him. I don’t know the particulars, I haven’t spoken to him personally. It’s something that I’ve been hearing for months; that under ideal circumstances he would prefer to be someplace other than Cleveland.”

The question is: what are ideal circumstances?

If Kyrie were to leave, the team would surely attempt to receive some type of compensation before he walks out the door. While Irving is a dynamic offensive player, it remains to be seen if he can dominate on the defensive side of the ball as well. If they were to make a championship run in Cleveland, Irving will have to step up and play better defense, but can he?

Nope. Just read an article saying Irving has no problem with the Cavaliers

@veronicaartino It would be sad, but he's seemed unhappy there for quite sometime. BK Nets would be a spot for him close to home and they need a pg

@duckthefodgers yeah that's all smoke and mirrors though. Not a big market, far away from home and not the star of the team. Lots of different places that may work for him
