I haven't been this excited for a video game since last summer when the Fallout 4 trailer was released. And honestly, I didn't think that I was going to enjoy The Division as much as I did when I played the beta two weeks ago. But I did and now with the recently released Launch Trailer for the game, I can't help but feel like this week is going to go by slower than I initially wanted it to.
There are two interesting things about this trailer. The first being that it sheds some light on what the story is supposed to be. I mean, I know some kind of bomb went off that made everyone sick in Manhattan but at least we get a better feel of the world and the gangs/groups that occupy the city in this trailer. I've got to say though, much like all Tom Clancy games, it's a little on the melodramatic side (which isn't a bad thing) and I can't get enough of it.
The other thing I really like about the trailer is all the weird little snippets of what people thought of the game that pops up during the trailer. There's one in particular (which I am too lazy to look for but I am sure it's in there) that goes something like, "this game is so good it's ridiculous".
And that's 100% true. I don't know how a game I've only heard about once before (a couple years ago) has suddenly skyrocketed to the top of my must-play list. I never thought that I'd be so excited for a game that I, literally, only cared about for the past month and a half.
Either way, though, I'm still excited for its release next week. I hope to see some of my Vingle buds in Manhattan!
The Division comes out for Xbox One and PS4 on March 8th, 2016.
