VSNA Hockey: Weekend Recap 27-29 February 2016
Good evening fellow Vinglers! Due to some severe technical difficulties (my pc crashed) I was unable to bring you updates the last three days. I apologize sincerely for the inconvenience. In this card I will briefly discuss the most important results of the weekend and there will be lots of highlights.
On Saturday the Penguins stomped the Jets 4-2, the Preds steamrolled the Blues 5-0, the Rangers topped the Stars 3-2, Detroit handled Colorado 5-2 outdoors, and the Kings took care of business against the Sabres 2-0. Those were the most important results of the day. Filip Forsberg recorded his second hat trick in three games against St. Louis, as the Preds continued their streak of success. They remain far behind the Blues in the division race but are solidifying their hold on the top wild card spot in the west. Pittsburgh has a tenuous grasp on the second wild card spot in the East but got a much needed boost with the return of Evgeni Malkin. There were plenty of highlights on Saturday so enjoy the top ten I added up above.
Sunday offered more excitement, as the Blackhawks topped the Capitals 3-2, the Blues bounced back in Carolina 5-2, the Bolts zipped by Boston 4-1, and LA lost ground to Anaheim and San Jose. Enjoy some more highlights.
Monday was funday with six more exciting games. Pittsburgh blew out the fading Coyotes 6-0, the Rangers topped the Blue Jackets 2-1, Philly continued their recent success at home against the Flames 5-3, Tampa Bay won in Toronto 2-1, the Red Wings beat the slumping Stars, and San Jose destroyed Montreal 6-2. Have some more highlights.
I hope you enjoyed all of the highlights for the last three days. VSNA will resume the usual daily releases today and should (barring any more serious technical issues) continue from here on out at the regular schedule. I once again apologize for any inconvenience.
