Iguana Holding Coquí: Street Art in Puerto Rico
Heard of the street artist Roa?
Roa is a muralist from Belgium who is known for his artwork around animals and rodents. His work often combines both life and death. The artist states, "Organs are the vital substances of our body and they represent a lot of the symbolism which I like!"
This specific piece is in Puerto Rico, completed for the Los Muros Hablan Festival. Iguanas pose an issue on the island, negatively crops and the ecosystem. And if you didn't know, coquí is the famous frog in Puerto Rico. The coquí is a small frog that is native to Puerto Rico.
I really love the distinct detail in this piece. What do you think of it?
