Growing up, there were two movies my family had on VHS that weren't animated Disney movies. One of them was the Mighty Ducks and the other one was Ghostbusters. It wasn't an official copy of the movie, I can still hear that old HBO Feature Presentation song in my head all warped because of the amount of times we ran the tape.
I'd watch the movie almost every night before I went to bed and when my nephews were born and old enough to understand movies, I made them watch it before they went to bed. Both Ghostbusters movies are still two of my absolute favorites. So when the reboot got announced, I was 100%, full success excited.
I've written cards about cast photos and stuff like that before but when the official trailer magically fell into my lap this morning, I nearly died. There isn't anything about the trailer that I dislike and I'm super excited for the movie to come out.
While watching the trailer (above) I couldn't help but feel like that young kid who was wrapped in a thin blanket every night watching the movie. And to be completely honest, I probably got teary eyed a couple times while watching it.
But that made me think. It made me think that maybe getting older is really just seeing things that you used to love as a kid/young person be remade. Maybe all we ever doe is chase the child that we were. And I don't know if this is a good or bad thing just yet.
But either way, I'm still really excited to enter back into the Ghostbusters world as an adult.
Ghostbusters will be in theaters on July 15th 2016

Ghostbusters is my daughter's favorite movie, so we're conflicted about the movie. The remake of Footloose was terrible and so was Poltergeist, so I doubt this one will be as good as the original.
