"I hate saying goodbye," I whisper silently into the night air. The wind wraps its cold fingers around my shoulders, squeezing them until I feel comforted. I look into his eyes, the eyes that were once filled with love, now filled with sorrow. "Don't worry, I'm sure we will meet again." He whispers, the wind picking up his words and floating them to my ears. I shake my head. Not because I don't believe that, but because he doesn't understand. I smile at how oblivious he is, drawing him into a hug before we depart. It's not the goodbye that I hate exactly. It's those memories and flashbacks that come after we say goodbye. All those good, sad, and hateful memories will now haunt me until we can see each other again. I draw back from the hug, watching his soft features form a smile as he walks away. I watch as he turns his back towards me. And I watch how his oblivious mind and stride leave me with those hurtful memories. ~KB Inspired by Fairy Tail
