Yu Darvish: Is He Worth The Risk In Fantasy?
More fantasy baseball news everyone!
One of the biggest enigmas in fantasy baseball this year is Yu Darvish. The talented pitcher was dominant from 2012-2014, but missed last year due to season ending surgery.
Everything was a success, and he should be back on the mound in mid-may. The big question is: Should you invest, or avoid Darvish?
Darvish was an All-Star in his first three years with the Rangers before missing all of last season following Tommy John ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow. He was 39-25 with a 3.27 ERA and 680 strikeouts in 83 starts for Texas from 2012 to '14, after the previous seven seasons in Japan.
Outside of his gaudy personal numbers, his situation from a team perspective is good. Texas made a great late season surge and pushed the Blue Jays to the limit in the playoffs. With the team returning the majority of their roster, it's not far out to think the team will see similar success this year. The addition of Yu will make them an even better team. Because the Rangers are good, you can expect a nice amount of wins with his solid SO and ERA.
You may have to wait until June for him to really find his form, but during the dog days of summer, he will be playing his best baseball, and that's all that matters to me.

What do you think, is Yu Darvish worth the risk in fantasy baseball?

All these pitchers from Japan perform really well for the first two seasons and then they break down because they've been overused in Japan
