Merging whimsical and rustic into one theme could be one of the most difficult tasks for any planner or designer. So when I saw this dreamy cake by Cat Campbell of Cake Whisperer in Ottawa, I just had to share it with you.
The six-tier fondant confection mixes color and texture beautifully. The ruffles at the bottom coordinate well with the woven ribbon effect for the top tier. Rustic blue and gold sandwich two all-white tiers in the middle.
What makes this so ethereal and rustic is the use of whimsical feathers and the wreath and flowers--attached to the side of the cake!
