I will try to post one date idea each Tuesday so that, if you want to try this, you have time to get ready before Friday night.

These dates are dates that appeal to me and my lifestyle! If it doesn't work for you, you can 1. try to adapt it to your style or 2. let me know in the comments and I can give you more ideas or plan next week's date around your suggestions :)

What you'll need:

1. A grocery store (where you will pick up pasta ingredients)
2. A kitchen (with a stove top, hot plate, etc to cook pasta!)
3. A movie you and your partner* can agree on
* A significant other is not necessary. If you're solo then more pasta for you!

1. Your shopping list

- Fresh basil
- A medium onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 lbs ripe tomatoes
- Balsamic vinegar
- Spaghetti
- Parmesan cheese
You probably have sea salt, olive oil and pepper but just in case - grab those too!

2. Your recipe!

Put on a feel good soundtrack you guys can cook to. Try listening to Dean Martin to get in the mood. An Evening in Roma is perfect!
Separate your tasks (one of you chops the tomatoes while the other grates the cheese) and COOK!
I'm a big fan of Jamie Oliver's classic spaghetti recipe right here! You don't need to stop at pasta either! What about making a salad and some garlic bread!?

2.5 Eat!

Oh you thought you were going to watch a movie now didn't you? Wrong!
Time to sit at the table and genuinely enjoy the food that you made together. Set the table and give yourselves time to talk. It's so easy to get sucked into a movie and forget to talk to each other or even enjoy your pasta!

3. Movie time

Now that you're full of carbs and ready to veg, its time for you to cuddle up and watch a movie. Go with something set in Italy or perhaps something about cooking!
Some suggestions that are all over the map: Roman Holiday, Cinema Paradiso (if you're down for the long haul), The Italian Job, Julie and Julia, The Tourist, Letters to Juliet, and Goodfellas (maybe not the best to watch while eating),
If your partner is suggests you watch the Lizzie McGuire Movie, propose to them on the spot. They're a keeper.

What would you do differently?

It's just an idea but personally I think it sounds lovely (and now I'm craving pasta WHY?!?!?!)

We had pasta last night....and I use to do movie nights with the kids. Now none of us agree on a movie.
This is a great idea! :D The only thing I'd change is the spaghetti since I don't like it. Haha
@PeachBoba making pizza together is another good one ;D a bit messier but that's half the fun!
@sophiamor We both do love pizza haha Nothing wrong with getting messy lol
I love eating pizza and pasta on date night, but since I'm single it's two of my best comforting foods
