I know what you are thinking after you read that headline -- how can a watermelon mojita actually be healthy?! Well, good news! Buzzfeed has put together a list of cocktails that are healthier that your regular cocktails because they use natural ingredients, such as fruit, to sweeten the drink. So if you can't go without your cocktails, try this healthier watermelon mojita.
For this cocktail, you will need:
-- 1 cup watermelon, seeded roughly chopped
-- ½ lime, juiced
-- 4 mint leaves
-- 1 fl. oz. Bacardi Rum (use white rum)
-- Club soda
You can find all of these items at a grocery store (except for the rum, which you will need to buy at a liquor store.)
Combine the ingredients
In a blender, blend the watermelon until it is liquified and then pour the watermelon juice into a glass. In a small, separate bowl, crush together the mint leaves and lime juice. Then, pour the lime and mint leaves mixture over the watermelon juice. Fill the rest of the glass with the rum and club soda. You can garnish the drink with a mint leaf and watermelon wedge.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
