About 3 months ago, it was announced that the iconic point-and-click adventure game, Day of the Tentacle, was being released and now there's finally a solid release date! And just in case you have a problem with reading titles, that date is March 22nd. Honestly, I'm extremely excited for this release.
Point-and-click adventure games have always been a part of my childhood and for a couple of years in high school, I spent a lot of time trying to find all the old ones I used to play -- I usually never found them -- so I'm extremely excited that they're all getting remastered.
It's kind of weird to think about because the last time I played this game was probably twenty-or-so years ago. I'd watch my brother play the game and we'd laugh at all the silly jokes in the dialogue.
It was announced on GOG recently and Tim Schafer released an exclusive video promoting the DRM-free version of the game. He also outlines some of the features included with the remastered edition which include both versions of the game, concept art galleries, and developer's commentary.
Out of all of those features, I'm really excited for the developer's commentary. Growing up in the world of Blockbuster Video and DVDs with director/cast commentary tracks, I love hearing what the process of creating something was while experiencing the finished product.
And to listen to Tim Schafer talk about a game he made feels like a dream come true.
