JUST SHUT UP HARPER!

So here's what happened.

During an interview with ESPN, Harper called out on the entire MLB saying the sport is 'tired'. He mentioned athletes like David Beckham, Cam Newton, and Steph Curry , on how they make their respective sports more exciting. Baseball? For Harper, he believes the sport needs more excitement and less 'unwritten rules'.

And he thinks he is the person to represent and change the game to make it more exciting.

(You can check out the full interview here)
So Sergio Romo had the perfect response to Harper.

"Just shut up!"

That is all for today ladies and gentlemen. And thank you Romo.

San Diego, get your shit together. Each year at the Padres stadium, Petco Park, the LGBT society in SD holds an event called "Out at the Park" that is meant to bring the community together for an evening of baseball. This year, Petco Park really, really screwed up. The San Diego Men's Gay Chorus was meant to sing the national anthem before the game to represent the LGBT community for this event. Their voices were never heard. The stadium let them take the field, and then as they were about to sing, a recorded female voice instead sang the anthem (which, if you've been to a Padres game, isn't something that happens - we always have live singing) The men had to walk off the field hearing people shouting profane, homophobic things at them. The Padres said it was a mistake, a technical error, a third party contractor, and that they were sorry. But that doesn't explain the other examples of mistreatment. Days prior to the game, the Padres organization told the performers that the chorus would have to pay for their tickets in order to sing. This is not something that happens, ever. If you perform the national anthem, you get to enter the park for free, DUH. Why did the Padres suddenly want this now? That would have cost the small organization thousands of dollars, and after dispute they were finally allowed in as performers. You can listen to their great voices here when they performed in 2015. It's a pity their voices weren't heard this year. Get it together Padres, you're a disappointment in baseball but don't be a disappointment to your entire community.
MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/20/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Matt Duffy (San Francisco Giants) A ground ball hit slowly on the third baseline wasn't going to stop Matt Duffy make this amazing play! He made the throw across his body and retired Nick Ahmed to end the inning. The ball looked like it was going to be an infield hit but Duffy made this exceptional play and let the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks. 4. Chase Utley (Los Angeles Dodgers) The ball was shot up the middle but Chase Utley smothered the ball and made a perfect throw on one knee to first to get the out! The 36 year-old veteran has shown strong defense throughout his entire career and this was just one more play that he added to his repertoire. The Dodgers however fell to the Pirates 4-3. 3. David Murphy (Los Angeles Angels) A strong line drive was hit to left field but David Murphy wasn't going to allow any hits. Murphy chased the ball, lunged for it, and made a beautiful diving catch to end the inning. HIs team however fell to the hot Twins 8-1. 2. Eugenio Suarez (Cincinnati Reds) Eugenio Suarez backhanded that ball and it was a long throw to first. It seemed like a very close call but the first base umpire first ruled the play safe. Reds manager Bryan Price however wasn't going to let it go without a challenge. And after a video review, the decision was overturned and his amazing play even got better with that out. It's always so tough to get a lot out of a throw like that but he made it into a perfect play. The Reds however lost 8-4 against the Milwaukee Brewers. 1. Jason Heyward (St. Louis Cardinals) It was a fly ball lifted into right field. Heyward however wasn't going to be satisfied with just one out. He throws a laser beam to home plate and gets it in time for two outs. He got into a perfect throwing position, it was a perfect throw, and he wowed everyone with a double play. And the Cardinals who are the number one ranked team in the MLB, beat the Chicago Cubs, the third best team in the MLB 4-3. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/25/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Rafael Ynoa (Colorado Rockies) So the Rockies know a lot about the Dodgers since they're in the same division, which is why they decided to do a major shift facing Andre Ethier. But when Ethier hit that ball, we thought it was going to go beyond the infield. Not Ynoa though. He went to his right to make an outstanding stop and also throw one on his knees to get the out. The Dodgers fell to the Rockies 7-4. 4. Michael Taylor (Washington Nationals) This one was hit towards center and we all thought it was going to be a routine popup play for Michael Taylor. However, there was a lot of wind in Washington today as we go into fall and the wind killed the ball to come down a lot quicker than expected. Taylor however did not lose focus on the ball and sprinted down to make a fabulous diving catch. The Nats however lost to the Phillies 8-2. 3. Martin Prado (Miami Marlins) We all know Prado is a great third baseman. Well, he proved it once again with this fantastic double play where he showed off his skills in the hot corner. He perfectly timed his dive, stopped the ball, threw one to Gordon on his knees, and Gordon completed the 5-4-3 double play. After a couple of runs back and forth, the Marlins beat the Braves 12-11. 2. Trayce Thompson (Chicago White Sox) Some people think baseball players are just huge, slow guys who crush a ball once in awhile. For those haters out there, Trayce Thompson showed some athleticism and grace with the second best play of the night. The ball was hit hard to right but Thompson wasn't going to let it go over his head. He leaped like a ballerina, extended his glove to make the catch. His throw was a bit off, but at least someone was backing up and he saved a few runs from being scored. The White Sox beat the Yankees 5-2. 1. Mookie Betts (Boston Red Sox) We see a lot of walk-off hits. We don't hear too often about a game-ending play that robbed a possible home run. Well, that is exactly what Mookie Betts did last night when the Red Sox faced the Orioles at Fenway Park. The game could have become more interesting when the 2013 AL home run leader, Chris Davis came up to bat in the ninth. He hit one way back to right field and we all thought it was going to be his 44th home run of the season. But not Mookie Betts who wanted to end the game as quickly as possible. Betts went over the home run fence and robbed Davis of a home run and ended the game a bit early to give his teammates some extra time to rest up. The Red Sox beat the Orioles 7-0.
