Saturday might be my favorite day of the week. It's the one, unadulterated day that you can simply wake up and do nothing...then gear up for the late night. Fridays, you're tired from work and sometimes you don't want to do anything at all. Sundays are spent getting ready for the next week.
Here are 10 things you can do to make the most of your Saturday, because after all it's the only day of the week that you can really do what you want.
1. Sleep the hell in.
Close your blinds on Friday night, and make sure the sun doesn't have a way of getting in. Then sleep until noon, because who has time to sleep in during the week. If you're like me, you work a hell of a lot, and Saturday is sacred. So treat it like it is.
2. Check out the local concert calendar.
If you live in a major metropolitan area, there's sure to be a concert happening somewhere near you. One of my favorite Saturday activities is either playing music myself or going to watch it. Might be a fun energizing event.
3. Go for a leisurely walk, because like you have the time.
If you don't sleep in too late you might have time to take a brisk walk around your neighborhood or to a cool place near town. It's nice to be outside and be able to clear your head. Take your headphones and veg on some incredible music along the way. Might be a good activity for Sunday too.
4. Buy yourself something awesome that you've been wanting.
Saturday is your day damn it, and funds willing, you will have fun and shop. Fuck it right? We've only got so much time on earth. Go to the mall or online and get yourself something. It's always fun to reward yourself for the shit you go through. Make time and money to do this. You will thank me.
5. Go out and get drunk with your friends.
Anyway, drink responsibly and all. But have fun, don't waste your time. Make sure to live! I haven't really been doing that lately. It's all about balance. So let Saturday be your day to drink like the devil and party till there's no tomorrow. Because for the next 6 days you'll be working, or thinking about work. You know?
